Retained products of conception

Hi,
This is a long shot but has anyone got experience of having retained products post partum? My DD is 4 months next Wednesday , I was in hospital with a haemorrhage post c section (almost 14 weeks post section last week) the scan showed retained products of conception. I was given the choice to wait it out for two weeks to see if my body could continue to pass the products and if no luck, have surgery, or i could’ve had surgery that day. I chose to wait to out as they gave me antibiotics and some meds to try and slow the bleeding and said I’d made it this far without complications so I should be ok.
Well, I’m still bleeding and passing tissue now. It stopped for two days , and then returned again today with the big clots . I just wondered if anyone has experienced this and did it stop or did you need surgery ?
It’s horrendous I just feel like my experience of motherhood so far has been pants . I’m suffering from PND severely and it’s just been grim.
I am EBF and when I was In the unit having my scan they refused to let me take my DD with me to BF and I was there 4 hours in total. She refuses bottle so there was no way anyone else could feed her, so I’m worried sick about having surgery and whether I’ll be able to feed her. Luckily when I was in a&e they were amazing and gave me a side room and allowed me to keep her with me the whole time, but the out patient department was a whole other story .

Thanks in advance

I feel for you! I had a haemmorhage shortly after ds was born then had a big one at home 10 days after he was born. I wasn't give the option to let it pass, I had surgery the next morning. I was in hospital for 2 days and wasn't allowed to have ds with me. It was the most upsetting experience of my life! I pumped milk and had to just chuck it as there was nowhere to store it safely. My ds took a bottle but very reluctantly. I was so glad to have the surgery and to know it was all gone. I had to work hard at breastfeeding but was adamant i would do it. Ds is 2 1/2 yo now and still bf!

@spaceghetto that sounds horrendous , I’m so sorry you had to go through that but also glad it all went well and still BF ! I suppose if they’re hungry they’ll take milk eventually . I’m worried this will affect my fertility in the future if we choose to have another baby, because of how long this has been going on for . I told them at 6 weeks PP that I was still heavily bleeding and they kept telling me to just take ibuprofen and that it is normal PP bleeding ! Then I had the huge bleed with clots last week and it landed me in a&e it was so heavy !
