...stop bragging about it!

there vented off some steam!!

why do some mothers feel compelled to tell me how wonderful their kid is - i know mine is nothing like theirs in terms of settling and sleeping etc but i dont want to know!!!

a hello would be nice...

They will also all wean with no problems (prolly be cooking a la carte by about 4), they will all toilet train themselves, in fact they won't even need nappies.

Just wait until they are at school.....

Definitely others tell lies, it makes them feel better to do so when things are perhaps not so rosy. Remember "going through the night" is a such loose term especially when compared to initial complete sleep deprivation . For some it means 3-4 hours , others 6, others 8 or more. Some will conveniently overlook the fact that their baby woke several times during this time.

And yes those same mums will claim that their darlings take 4 ice cubes of puree 3 times a day at 4 months, roll/crawl/walk early, have a wide vocabualry at 14 months, recognise letters and numbers by 18 months, potty train themselevs before 2 .....so nod politely and move the conversation on. You will never hear negatives from some people but be inwardly confident that there will be something bugging them, no child is consistently perfect - if not now, their payback time will come !
