Getting out of the house with a nap routine

I feel ridiculous writing this but I’m genuinely stuck- how do people take their babies out in the daytime?
I think I’ve been so wedded to nailing our nap routine (Little Ones) and also so locked down that I’ve forgotten how to leave the house beyond the pram nap in the afternoon!

How do people leave the house?...

I used to plan things around nap times where possible, so either morning or late afternoon outings or appointments. If all day then fine though, the babies used to sleep in the pram/buggy.

With my first I went out in the mornings then was back for the afternoon nap. Now I have my second, they have to go with the flow a bit more! I use the pram/buggy and they sleep in that when we are out.

Just went with the baby sleeping wherever. First one had a more structured routine but after that they slept wherever we were - prom, car seat, beach on a mat, supermarket trolley, wherever. I don’t think they ever got put down in a cot during the day.

Thanks all! And are you/did you BF? Just factoring having to feed them feels like a mammoth organisational feat!

Yes, breastfed exclusively. I couldn’t be doing with all the formula fussing around and increased risks.

Feeding was just finding a spot to sit (usually) and pop them up inside my top or undo a button. If I could get a tea at the same time, so much the better. If it needed to be in a parking bay at a garage, so be it.

My LO likes to look around at everything that's going on when we go out (except to the local park as he's seen it too many times now)! So often he'll miss the nap, but doesn't seem bothered as he is having too much fun. The he'll just sleep for longer at the next nap

Depending on where we're going, I sometimes take a bottle of expressed milk - especially new places if I don't know what kind of facilities will be available (and with COVID, lots of things aren't available currently)

God I feel like this! Just got baby to nap in her crib recently! She rarely naps in her pram she's too nosey! But will sleep in the car. She will only nap on me or in her crib, I guess if she's really tired she would conk out eventually. But when I am out she barely sleeps and then is an over tired mess crying and whinging constantly. I completely get it Cos not all babies will sleep anywhere and I think I have one of those! It's difficult but just try to plan things around the naps. Having said that I did this today and she still ended up having a meltdown because she was tired! 15 weeks btw!
