Hi everyone...

Firstly sorry I've just posted this by mistake randomly on someone's thread I'm new to this app..

My son is 7 weeks today. Took him to his first session of Crainial osetophaths.. I took him as he just doesn’t sleep for very long. Daytime or nighttime unless he’s held.. he cry’s like theirs something wrong & grunts a lot. Also has skin rashes..

First thing she said was as I took antibiotics during pregnancy that my son will be missing probiotics from his gut which is causing him to grunt all night & is giving him a slight milk intolerance & causing the skin rashes. This makes full sense & I’ll be purchasing the probiotics in the morining once I’ve just With my GP. So this is basically causing Colic symptoms

The second thing she said was bcoz my labour was 20 hrs long it’s caused tension on his skull.. she checked & she said theirs a few major tension points that she can really fix..

She did the first treatment yesterday but to me on my Hubby it was like she did NOTHING.. her hands barley touched him so how is this going to help??

I was so optimistic & exicited thinking this will be amazing but now I’m second guessing it.. she said he will need 3-4 sessions so another 3 left at £55 each time.

We got recommend to this lady so I know she’s good ect..

Any stories good or bad anyone can share?
Thank you

It didn't help my colicky baby unfortunately, who also has a dairy intolerance. The only thing that helped slightly was giving up dairy (she's breastfed). I would be suspicious of the probiotic suggestion.

Osteopaths barely touch the head so that doesn't sound strange at all. My daughter slept well after her first session and I took her back for a second before deciding to stop as it wasn't making a big difference. She did have two longer naps than usual though!

[[BBC News - Gently stroking babies 'provides pain relief'

Sorry I think my copy and paste went a bit awry then.

Light touches are what it's all about totally normal.

I think the practice has been dismissed as pseudoscience but if it's something you believe in then why not.

I've been taking my DS to a chiropractor for the last 4 months as he developed a flat spot on the back of his head. It's a slow process but well worth doing to ensure they're not in pain further down the road. I would look into other practices around your area though! £55 is ridiculous. I pay £27 for DS's sessions and adults are only £37

That sounds exactly like my experience with a CO woth my son. I went three times then have up. I couldn't tell any difference whatsoever and he screamed his head off every session!
