9 weeks pp and still feel battered

Hello, pretty much as the title says really. I'm 9 weeks pp and still feel so battered from the delivery. I had a third degree tear because baby was back to back. I got stitched up in theatre so thankfully didn't have to feel any 'tugging' from a local aesthetic. I'm still however on lactulose because it hurts when I poo (I think I have piles or maybe a fissure), and for the last week my leg has been in unbearable pain. I love my baby so so much but I feel so battered and can't help feeling sorry for myself. Out of my friendship circle I'm the only one who has had these many problems. They all seem to have slipped their babies out. Please tell me I'm not alone!!

Hi Myrtle, sorry you're going through this. I also had a third degree tear and know what you mean about feeling alone. I felt better when I discovered some friends who had the same! Anyway, I was also on lactulose and then prune juice for a while. Your leg being in pain doesn't sound good though. Can you see your GP? If you haven't had an automatic referral to women's physio please ask your GP for one. I got it automatically through my hospital (everyone with a third degree tear got referred, starting at six weeks pp) and it was so helpful and reassuring. They help you work on your pelvic floor to prevent problems and generally check things are healing as they should. I've had an uneventful recovery and have been assessed and told all is healed well so try not to worry, you will feel much better soon. I know it is worrying though.
