I had baby no 2 nearly 5 wks ago and while I've lost the baby weight I look horrible! Am all flabby and cos I have had 2 section's, I've got a HUGE overhang and swollen belly. I can't fit in any of my clothes and am feeling really down about myself.

I've got a big wedding coming up when baby is 7wks and a family do this weekend and no idea what I'm going to wear.

Realise that i really need to do some exercise but am still to sore after section and also when the hell do you find time to do exercise with a new baby and a 3 yr old!

Am totally chuffed to bits with my little family but gutted at my huge jelly belly...

Anyone else feel like this and when/does it get better?

p.s - didn't have a nice body to begin with but now it's just horrific!

get some hold you in knickers ! look, you;ve just had a baby, no-one should expect you to be flat of stomach.....no stomach crunches either until after your 6 week check
remember, took 9 months for your body to change, give it more than 7 weeks to get back to how it was x

Most of have jelly bellies and overhang post naural and c-sec delivery, at least your bits arent mangled too eh?

Its totally unrealistic to think your going to morph into something sensational for the wedding-its not going to happen, too soon post birth.

There are many styles on the market that will help to hide it though, floaty tops are great for hiding that overhang, dont wear anything too clingy and just choose something that flatters your post baby body as much as possible. good luck with finding something

I know exactly how you feel! I am nearly back to normal but very squidgy still and 1/2 stone overweight at 5 weeks post birth. I can't recommend highly enough the post natal corset from Agent Provocateur. It was a pricey £70 I think and has to be worn from a couple of days after the birth for 45 days. I haven't worn it every day I'll be honest but it holds everything in and does control the lumpy bits. There must be something similar on the market, a bit cheaper too. I won't go out without it on as it gives me a lot of confidence that I'm not falling out or spilling over my clothes. Now all I've got to do is find some way to restrain my boobs !

I can second the AP post natal pants - they were designed with Dr Gowri Mutha and are ace. You wear one size for two weeks then go down a size for two weeks. I have two pairs of each size, and wear them with ordinary pants underneath so they don't need washing everyday. They have just redesigned them with poppers so you don't have to pull them off everytime you need to go to the loo. Mine were £65 each and I wear them day and night, and at only 5 days post delivery (admittedly not c/s) I almost look back to normal. They make me feel much more confident as they hold you in.

Have a look at the Spanx range of 'hold you in pants' as well, they're not specifically post natal but they have the celeb endorsement of Gwyneth Paltrow. They might not be as pricey as they AP ones either.

My friend said post c/s her tummy got better once she'd had her first period as all the hormones were finally settling down.

Finally - tunics are BIG news this fashion season and are perfect for covering tummies. You should find them all over the high street and will be suitable for weddings and family dos.

Best of luck
