Welcome back!

(Dear greetings cards manufacturers: 'Baby's First Christmas' does NOT necessarily have to include Baby being liberally sprinkled with glitter from your shoddily-made merchandise.

Except that, as I'm rapidly discovering, it does.

Morning all. Sounds like we've all had a bit of a trying night Sad - let's hope for an easy day to follow!
Missus Couch to 5k is a 9-week programme that aims to get you from no exercise at all to being able to run for 30 minutes (or about 5km) without a break. It took me a lot longer than 9 weeks (I only moved on to each new stage when I was happy doing the previous one, rather than doing a new one every week - but I started out VERY unfit), but it worked! If you google 'NHS couch 5k' there's a page with downloadable podcasts that are quite good, plus there are lots of phone apps that talk you through it.

Hahaha tatty. I think that even though this is my second. It still puzzles me and they are all so damn different too!
Glad you had a decent stretch of sleep though Grin

wondermoose13 · 05/01/2015 08:56

happy babymoose outgrew his moses basket at 7 weeks! Hes a long creature!
He has about a week and a half in his own room with monitor but when he had his jabs he sounded really snuffly so we got a spacesaver cot off preloved for our room, but then gave up and moved his big cot in here! Such a pita but fits just!
I only noticed hes outgrown his pram when MIL removed the leg cover to put him in! No idea how ive made a giant baby im distinctly average height as is dh

STIGZ · 05/01/2015 09:30

I quite fancy couch to 5k ? I have lost about 2 stone also but like splendid said im really needing to tone up, i basically couldnt walk the length of myself the last couple of months of my pregnancy due to spd, so i am totally unfit. Im sort of the mind set "ah who cares about my baggy tummy" but i know i would feel such an achievement if i got off my bum and started getting my body in shape. I just need to find the energy, really need to start eating properly but i just dont have any appetite at all as I'm running about like a blue arsed fly constantly and forget to be hungry.

Hope the first morning back to school went smoothly? I fell asleep at half 6 and slept in till 7.45 amBlush so tired, so sympathy for you all ... You are not alone Smile

tattyblue · 05/01/2015 09:45

I went for a run yesterday for the first time in a year. I'd meant to keep going through pregnancy but I had four months of vomitting everywhere so that didn't happen. I was surprised by how not too bad it was- a very slow 3 or 4 k so nothing to write home about, but not excruciating and my legs are a bit sore today but not really stiff. I feel quite proud of myself.

My next door neighbours have two boys age 5 and 3, and judging by the noise coming through the (thin) walls they're pretty ready for the holidays to be over. The fun/crying ratio has definitely shortened in the last few days.

Smooshie85 · 05/01/2015 09:51

Morning all
I too have a 12-13 weeker who has sleep regressed ugh. Also his feeding patterned all all over the place, I think I'm still geared up for cluster feeding ! I need to wait for his hungry cues really. I too am in a sleeping and pram predicament, Lo is too big for Moses basket and keeps waking himself up by catching his arms on the side ! Our cot will prob fit in our room but the side doesn't come off?
Sleep wise this maybe changing as we have second set of jabs today ;( wish us luck!

wondermoose13 · 05/01/2015 10:15

Dh left pram in car... i somehow have to get me and ds dressed and downstairs, get the pram and get over thr road to the doctors in the next 15 minutes.... ive completely forgotten how to cope alone!

FATEdestiny · 05/01/2015 10:35

Three children up 7.30am, breakfasted and in school uniform by 8.00 which left the oldest two half an hour to faff with their hair and me enough time to get me and baby fed and dressed. DD fell asleep in pram on way to school and is still asleep now - so enough time for me to have a sit down with the paper and MN and two cups of tea in silence.

Bliss.

YellowWellies · 05/01/2015 10:48

Jonas was a 36 weeker and had his 4 month regression in time with actual not adjusted age. Lil still hasn't regressed yet and is 15 weeks on Thursday. I almost want it here just so we can get it over with. It's torture imagining (foolishly) that it might bypass her....

STIGZ · 05/01/2015 11:04

Think mine might be the regression? she's 12 weeks on friday & seems to be meeting her milestones from due date & not two weeks early adjusted age. How long does it last ? 12 week jabs on wednesday ... Another thing to possibly affect sleepConfused

Enjoy fate Brew

Aw moose you will have it cracked by tomorrow night!

yellow you never know... Maybe it has been & gone?? How lovely would that be ?

sazzlehopes · 05/01/2015 11:05

Hope with all the potential Monday blues, sleep regression and coping without other halves this picture will make you Grin today!

splendide · 05/01/2015 11:14

Hello! Pretty good night here. 12-5 then 6-9. I'm pretty sure he was awake at 2 but he just chuntered away for a bit and went back to sleep. Was disconcerting. Im terrified about the regression, he's only 10 weeks so it's all ahead of us :(

Happytimes31 · 05/01/2015 11:19

We have jabs on thurs if he is better, dreading the aftermath and the sadness at the time Sad

YellowWellies · 05/01/2015 11:40

Stigz the 12 week jags made her sleep - fingers crossed they work the same for you x

YellowWellies · 05/01/2015 11:40

Hope they bring sleep for you too Happy x

STIGZ · 05/01/2015 12:53

Does anyone use a slow cooker ?

RudyTuesday · 05/01/2015 12:54

Ha ha sazzle

I've not experienced any of the weight loss "promised" with breastfeeding. It's just given me the appetite of a sumo wrestler. If I don't eat crazy portions I feel dizzy! Have just resigned myself to it now and bought bigger clothes. Hopefully my appetite will normalise when bf stops.

STIGZ · 05/01/2015 12:56

Wish her jabs where today yellow she has shut her eyes 20 mins since waking at 8 ... A sleepy baby would be nice as dd1 is away to the shops with her gran till after tea time

RudyTuesday · 05/01/2015 12:57

stigz my slow cooker is in the cupboard of aspirations alongside juicer and breadmaker.

wondermoose13 · 05/01/2015 13:11

My slow cooker is on top of the dresser and has been since my wedding 3 years ago...
Babymoose is in bouncy chair being jiggled furiously to try and get him to sleep. Its failing miserably.
Made an effort to go to baby group after drs this morning (20 min drive) and it was cancelled! So no adults to talk to today :( going to have to give in and put babymoose in the pram but i dont want to go for a walk im too knackered! (Waaaaah! Sorry having a "woe is me" day today!)

JeannePoole · 05/01/2015 13:15

Rudy LOL at 'cupboard of aspirations'. Every kitchen has one... Mine is devoted to housing every possible gizmo for my hugely expensive Kenwood Chef. Still, the ice cream was really nice that one time I made it. Grin

ruby we have a toddlepod. He sleeps quite well in it but only if Putin when asleep from boob or on the verge of sleep. Whereas he'll nod off in the bouncer. Daytime naps are in either of those or his pram/car seat. I keep on meaning to put his toddlepod in his big cot so he gets used to it.

I want to know why my baby sometimes does 8.30-4am and sometimes 8.30 - 2.30am. Be consistent little baby!

Missus2ndwife · 05/01/2015 13:18

Thanks Jeanne. I might investigate that couch to 5k. The thing is, I just HAtE exercising... But my weight has got out of control as has my eating and drinking.

I'm really not looking forward to this sleep regression you all talk of. Sounds like a nightmare, as does teething... Can we just skip this phase and move on to the good bits please?

wondermoose13 · 05/01/2015 13:29

Did someone say that ear pulling was a sign of teething? Or have i made that up in my sleep deprived state?

MundayCakes85 · 05/01/2015 13:30

I have a slow cooker, did some batch stews before baby came along. Haven't tried anything since.
How's everyone's New Year sleep routine going? E has been asleep upstairs for 40 mins so far. It did take 45 mins to get her there though Smile
Also got her big cot ready so may try a nap a day in there next.
