Welcome back!

(Dear greetings cards manufacturers: 'Baby's First Christmas' does NOT necessarily have to include Baby being liberally sprinkled with glitter from your shoddily-made merchandise.

Except that, as I'm rapidly discovering, it does.

E goes about 12 hours overnight without pooing but when she goes in the morning it's definitely a number 3!! She's pretty noisy hence the nickname "poo pants" Grin
You could try rubbing baby moose's tummy clockwise with your thumb under the ribcage (if that makes sense) massage lady suggested that. Let us know how you get on.

tattyblue · 03/01/2015 16:24

I just went out to the shops leaving baby with dp and some expressed.milk. having developed a theory that what she hates us things that are a but like nipples but aren't nipples he fed her a couple of ounces using a syringe and she took it fine. Progress!

We're using the calpol syringe. Going to keep it up for a few days and then try her on a bottle again, and hope she might have come round, but if not it's at least an occasional solution.

wondermoose13 · 03/01/2015 16:52

Still no poo.... am slightly concerned about how epic it will be when it arrives, its going to be like something out of a disaster movie! Need to try the foot thing next, fingers crossed!
He did do a really concentrated face and kind of grunt, a while ago like he was trying but nothing happened he even seems to be shaking a bit like he was really pushing. I just dont want him to associate it with pain as someone at my baby group had an awful time with that and laxatives :s hmm
yellow my cmpa guru, could this be due to trying dairy on nye? Or just an unrelated baby thing

YellowWellies · 03/01/2015 17:49

Moose it can constipate them but it more commonly has the opposite effect.

splendide · 03/01/2015 18:14

A sometimes goes 3 days without a poo then sort of cluster poos - we'll get 3 in a day then nothing again for a bit. Although he poos more often since he had his tongue sorted. I guess just because there's more going in.

DutchMummy88 · 03/01/2015 18:19

Baby R used to go days without pooping and I was convinced he was constipated, but in the end he always did a normal poo and seemed pretty relaxed about it all. Now he does one every day luckily as I got pretty obsessed with tummy massage haha

What time do you all go to bed? I really can't make it past 21h these days before I conk out on the sofa. But to be fair I also get up two hours earlier then I used to so I suppose that makes sense Hmm

Me23 · 03/01/2015 19:30

I'm mainly on fb now but do pop by now and then.
Baby violet born 10/10 Svd induced at 39+6 due to pre eclampsia, weighing 6lb 10 now at 12 weeks is only 10lb 7 due to reflux :-(

Me: 32 years old, midwife living in London. 2 other dc 9 and 3. Don't want to go back to work (as a mw anyway) not financially viable and way to stressful for such little monetary gain. But will need to return for 3 months due to mat pay conditions.

bumpbangbump · 03/01/2015 21:09

Bit of a lurker, both here and on fb. Manage to read but only post every now and then, probably more on fb though.

Baby girl, 5/10/14, 8lb 1.5oz. Vaginal delivery that was very quick just like my first. Feel a bit like I don't get my moneys worth in drugs tbh!! Sleeping really well amd putting on weight like a trooper, or I think she's putting on weight, I haven't been to clinic for 5 weeks. Very different from her brother who is still waking at night at nearly 3 years. Smiley, happy, chatty, giggly baby!

Me - 31, nearly 32. Live near Brighton and work in local fe college in what was disability services but is now a stripped back, just about complient with DDA, learning support service. Been with oh for nearly 13 years and haven't even buried each other under the patio. Random fact - I was once a backing dancer for boyzone!!!

STIGZ · 03/01/2015 21:22

Oh my god bump Smile i am in love with shane lynch. He is perfection!! I was a boyzone stalker for years when i was a teenagerBlush

wondermoose13 · 03/01/2015 21:27

stigz i second that! Hes just hot :D and bump that is incredibly cool!! I used to love boyzone and always tried to copy the dances! Blush

wondermoose13 · 03/01/2015 21:56

Pregnantagain7 · 03/01/2015 22:16

Yay will done babymoose!

bump I'm very impressed, blows my Liam Gallagher snog out of the water Grin

YellowWellies · 03/01/2015 22:29

Moose I swear you can feel a hard knot on the edge of the foot when there's a poonami brewing.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 03/01/2015 23:14

Splendide: hope you don't mind me posting on this thread but another poster on the other thread you started just before Xmas about feeling low mentioned that you were doing better so I gave into my nosiness and did a search for your recent comments. Blush

I think you're amazing! You're doing a brilliant job - seriously. I'm in awe of you. I hope you realise what a fab mother you are - your care and concern for your son and determination and willingness to be open about difficult issues to find a solution that works for you just shine through your threads and blow me away. You're an inspiration!

I know your ds is still at a very difficult and trying age and things won't be "easy" for a while yet, in fact there will be many ups and downs to come but your recent posts seem to have a completely different feel about them. I obviously don't know you but I sort of feel that they show more of the "real you."

I'm so glad I gave in to my nosiness and found out how you were doing. I hope things continue to improve - with you as his star of a mum I'm sure they will!

STIGZ · 03/01/2015 23:50

Nice to hear from you me hope you all had a nice crimbo & new year ?

Curly that was a lovely message to splendid she is a doing a splendid job Smile even though she doesn't think so at times, motherhood is tough, especially at the beginning!!

STIGZ · 03/01/2015 23:51

Yeah moose shane lynch gets better with age Wink # sexybeast

Kirstipops · 04/01/2015 00:10

Awh Curly if there was a "like" button on MN for your post I'd be hittin it Grin

Kirstipops · 04/01/2015 00:16

Wow Bump claim to fame indeed!!! did you ever get thwacked by their floppy shirt cuffs, for some reason that's one of their dance moves I remember haha! I also remember covering a school jotter with a sepia-tinged Boyzone poster from my Shout magazine, I think i fancied them all haha!

Grannyapple · 04/01/2015 00:18

Well hello there ladies...happy new year & all that!

Wow, lots to catch up on...haven't been on much as had to nip back to Scotland for an impromptu New Years trip (MIL hasn't been keeping great!). Survived the drive up with 3 in tow, journey back yesterday was tiring...including driving through borders snow on m74, narrowly avoiding 3 crashes & middle child throwing up & then choking on it whilst dozing!

Right stats/info:
DS 2, Adam, born 24/10 exactly 1 El overdue ('early by my standards-others were 10 & 11 days over). Child no 3 & very much a wee bonus baby Blush. Ds1 4 in feb & Dd is 17 months. Had a lovely planned homebirth, 4 HR labour...best but was getting into own shower & bed after it & getting 4.5 hrs sleep...never had that in PN Ward in hosoural with other 2...barely 2 hrs sleep there! 3rd child with tongue tue...had it snipped day 3 & still breastfeeding at 10 wks which is a huge achievement for me!

Me: 38 yrs (almost 39), originally from just outside Glasgow (stigz i think we're from same town...see claim to fame! DH from same town also, been together 20 yrs), but now live in London, moved down south 13.5 yrs ago, been in London for last 8 yrs. Really like it tho sometimes miss the support of family/friends. I'm an accountant & taking a years mat leave this time so I can be around for DS1's first month of starting school (where did my baby go?!). Interesting fact/claim to fame: in distantly related to Marti Pellow (dad's cousin is married to his brother).

Ah DD has just woken, hoping she hasn't been sick again...

wondermoose13 · 04/01/2015 00:18

Little bugger keeps trumping himself awake! Was so sure he was down for good at last one too

ohthegoats · 04/01/2015 01:58

What can you actually do to extend time between feeds at night? She's now waking every two hours, and screaming on waking ( new - she used to just snuffle etc until I woke enough to hear her), then crying and fussing on being put down too. Long nights....

Missus2ndwife · 04/01/2015 04:21

Goats - sometimes mine wakes up screaming too! It's like he gets a fright or something. Very weird.

Granny - so glad to hear MiL is doing well.

Me - I think you MW's rock after my birth but understand the pressure and stress. Have you thought about what you will do next?

MundayCakes85 · 04/01/2015 06:19

Goats- maybe having a bad dream? Or just testing what sounds her voice makes?
Grumpy DH here tonight. He wants DD in her own room (12wks old) but I'm resisting. Tonight DD has had 2 feeds (usually sleeps until 7am) and has done this new leg thumping/ banging trick that keeps waking DH up.
Any suggestions oh wise ladies?
