Welcome back!

(Dear greetings cards manufacturers: 'Baby's First Christmas' does NOT necessarily have to include Baby being liberally sprinkled with glitter from your shoddily-made merchandise.

Except that, as I'm rapidly discovering, it does.

Woo hoo it's chriiiiistmaaas!

Merry Christmas Eve everybody! wondermoose I really feel for you it's so hard when you are at someone else's house just try and focus on how nice it will be when you get home. Sending you festive hugs I've been there and I remember how crap it was.

splendide sounds like things are improving a little for you having four is not so bad and thing get definitely get easier after you've had a couple :)

I've finally finished all the Xmas preparations and have sat down for the first time in what feels like days! Can't wait to see the kids faces in the morning Grin

fedupofrainydays · 24/12/2014 22:36

Can't wait to see my sons face in the morning when he gets his stocking (well, sack) at the end of his bed!! I've done one for the baby too so lots of opening to do!

Merry Christmas all and hope things improve for those of you at others houses and fx father Christmas brings good sleeps all round!

ohthegoats · 24/12/2014 22:37

Munday - sudacream fixed it here.

fedupofrainydays · 24/12/2014 22:39

munday what type of crack? Ds had those beind his knees in his fat rolls. Making sure they were dry after bath and applying oilatum worked - but I think was mild eczema for him.
Fullers Earth works too.

MundayCakes85 · 24/12/2014 22:43

It looked a bit dirty/ sweaty/ sicky a couple of days ago so been extra careful cleaning and drying. Don't think it's anything sinister. Might try Sudocreme to try to dry it out. Thanks!

wondermoose13 · 24/12/2014 23:17

Slept for 15 minutes, farted himself awake! Back on the boob you go... Have huge white blob on nipple from him chewing that hurts constantly! Cheers babymoose!

ExcitedCJ · 24/12/2014 23:33

Moose eeekkk! Being in the IL's house with newish baby is no fun esp. At Christmas. Big hugs & to the rest of you that are doing this over the next few days.
Splendide I am delighted you are seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel. :) :)
Merry Christmas you guys. Wishing you a restful night & a fantastic day tomorrow for your babies first Christmas. Xx

YellowWellies · 24/12/2014 23:36

Four kids in the house so the pile of pressies under the tree looks obscenely huge! The five year old nearly blundered in wanting a glass of water. Argh!

Kirstipops · 25/12/2014 00:41

Merry Christmas everyone :)
Hope Santa is good to you and yours and nobody murders any of their relatives!

Sorehead · 25/12/2014 02:18

Merry Christmas!

I'm hoping Father Christmas brings me a month night of unbroken sleep!

Hope goats, moose and anyone else I've forgotten have better nights than last night.

DS woke at 1 but I managed to half settle him so I dozed for an hour between his wrigglings but got fed up and brought him out to feed him. He's only had about 2oz but he's let out some cracking farts! I reckon if it wasn't for this stupid trapped wind, we would have had a decent stretch of sleep Angry

Happy Christmas one and all, try to enjoy yourselves!

ExcitedCJ · 25/12/2014 02:59

Hello fellow night Owls. Hope sleep finds you swiftly again. DS down after feed & FX next wake up is around 7am. Hopefully all timings will coincide & DD will get up to open presents at same time!
Goats hope you get a bit more rest tonight.

STIGZ · 25/12/2014 04:37

wondermoose13 · 25/12/2014 06:33

Babymoose finally went to sleep around 430 after many many attempts. Dh is moaning that hes tired despite sleeping during all my feeding attempts. Hes being completely useless and its his damn fault we're stuck here and i have to spend all day with his crazy family... if he doesnt become more useful soon im taking babymoose and going home!!
I really think im going to always remember how shit babymoose's first xmas was. Its supposed to be this wonderful exciting time but instead i feel like im coping with a baby and a 3 yr old (dh) and being constantly judged by shitty in laws

RudyTuesday · 25/12/2014 07:00

Happy Christmas mums and babies! This time last year the only thing I was nursing was a hangover, here starts a new era of special times.

(Hope he snaps out if it and gives you some support moose)

splendide · 25/12/2014 07:21

Oh shit, me and the boy only just woke up! I appreciate the sleep but he shouldn't be going without a night feed should he? Bollocks I can't believe I didn't wake up earlier. He last fed about 11pm. I'll set an alarm tonight. Is that really the result of 2 oz of formula?!

Happy christmas anyway!

fedupofrainydays · 25/12/2014 07:41

moose just want to give you a hug. I have been in your situation and its awful. I didn't enjoy my sons first Christmas either and it's only now he's three and knkws what is going on that its fun!!

splendide · 25/12/2014 07:58

Aww moose I feel the same really. When I was pregnant I thought this would be the most magical Christmas ever and now it's more a matter of getting through it. Next year will be better xxx

JeannePoole · 25/12/2014 08:25

Happy Christmas, all! And moose, I hope your DH gets his finger out soon so you can have some fun.

Have a lovely day with your babies, and make sure you take at least one embarrassing cute photo of them in a Santa hat. You'll be needing it on their wedding day Wink

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

Thanks guys im doing my best brave face but his family arent helping
"Oh we didnt hear you so we thought you'd slept really well" thats because i tend to feed and cuddle my son rather than letting him scream in agony/hunger!! Ffs

Hope you all have a lovely day with your little ones, i'll try not to moan too much!
xx

That's right Bump, he's maintained rather than gained for the last couple weeks. I agree one night (and so well timed!) can't have done too much harm. I'll accept his present and set an alarm tonight. Not that he'll ever do it again probably!

Oh Moose I get exactly the same! My mum assumes that because she hasn't heard him hysterical we must have been asleep all night. No, I just feed him rather than let him cry in his crib (spoiling him).

Sorehead · 25/12/2014 09:27

goats- that's an improvement on last night!

I'm so jealous of the people on Facebook saying they got babies sleeping through/ for a decent chunk. It feels like everyone else's babies are getting better at sleeping and mine is getting worse (I know it's not the case, especially reading the posts on here!) he used to have a decent sleep from about 8pm to 5am, with feeds at 10pm, 1am and 4am. From about 5-7am the wriggling and grunting would start. The wriggling and squirming is now starting earlier and earlier- last night was 1am Sad

moose- I really feel for you. At least babymoose won't remember anything about this Christmas and you can make next year extra special when babymoose can interact more etc. I hope Father Christmas brought a good kick up the arse for your DH?!

spendide- that's an impressive sleep. You obviously both needed it!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!
