PLONKY GETS MARRIED TOMORROW!!!

Ahem. Sorry. Had to get that out of my system.

My 2 extra workaholic days at work have now finished. My coursework is all marked, and apart from exam results day I don't have to worry about work now until September. Tomorrow we are driving 300 odd miles to Pembrokeshire to spend a week in blissful peaceful countryside with some of my family. I think things are showing a very very slight improvement between DH and I. I'm trying very hard not to see everything he does as an excuse to get pissy. He's been better round the house. We're trying to be nice to each other. Baby steps. I can't decide whether a week together now is a good thing or a bad thing. We'll see.

Doli, hooray for a stressed husband meaning another girl! I must remember to keep DH stressed when we're next TTC, if nothing else to save money on clothes and suchlike.

Yummy is DS feeling better? I see from fb that fartypants appears to be, so I hope your boy is too. I'm dreading the influx of germs when Gerrytoddle starts nursery in September.

No make up here anymore apart from big nights out. Until about 6 months ago I was full foundation, blusher, mascara at least, but then I just... stopped. Not sure why, but I'm so glad I did. My skin is so much brighter now and I don't have to faff around with the gloopy getting-the-make-up-off-again rubbish.

Right. Someone is shouting at me to go and dance with them, so off I pop. Happy Friday everyone! Actually, as it's overfamiliar Friday, and in honour of plonk: Happy Friday you sexy bastards!

Good luck with the trip Gerry. I hope it's a good week away for you all and toddlerry is a delight for 300 miles.

Can I just say FUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

WottaMess · 25/07/2014 08:36

Plonky! Sexy bastard! You're getting married tomorrow. This makes me Grin . Enjoy your last day of freedom preparation. Wink

StormyBrid · 25/07/2014 09:26

Too many posts to namecheck, but I have awesome news: Fartypants went to bed at 7pm and went straight to sleep! Not a peep until 6.30am, whereupon I gave her some milk and told her to go back to sleep, and she did! Still asleep now. Hallelujah!

Also, 300 miles with a toddler? I hope she likes her car seat, Gerry, or that could be hellish. Still, a train would be worse!

dolicapax · 25/07/2014 09:49

Gerry happy holidays! I'm so glad things are on a positive trajectory with DH. A holiday can only be a good thing, surely, as you'll have time to just be a couple without worrying about who's turn it is to clean the bathroom. At least, it usually works out that way for us.

Eco the pork pie was an extra special treat from the Porky Pieman who makes his own and sells them at the farmers market. He's about the only stall worth going to at the farmers market, the rest veer between mediocre and really rubbish. I must confess about the only thing I miss about London is the really amazing farmers markets. I guess there is more money in sending your goods into the City, as the other thing I remember about them was the insultingly rude pricing!

Plonky Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thought I'd get that in there early. My words of advice 1. You'll not get nearly long enough with anyone, as everyone will want a piece of you, so ask all your friends to take as many photos as they can and put them on the web for you. That way you miss nothing. 2. You have to dtd afterwards! Even if you are half cut and falling over. It's the law Grin 3. Disasters make great stories. If they happen, enjoy them! 4. Ignore all unasked for advice and just have fun Wink

Over familiar hugs to everyone, just because it's a nice day and Plonky's getting married!!!!!!!!

yummychocolate · 25/07/2014 11:41

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 25/07/2014 13:56

Yep 300miles, 6 hours, and mostly M4 so the same direction as the rest of the country heading west for the holidays. Planning to leave home at 6am, poo notwithstanding we're hoping not to stop until we got Wales, so about 3 hours in. Then a good long stop with soft play planned, then. The second half of the journey to coincide with nap times. I'm hoping that the combination of constant snacks and a DVD on the portable player will make it bearable...

Keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth journey, Gerry.

Plonk, are you ready to scream and run away yet?

We've had an excellent day so far. Fartypants slept in until 10am (glorious, roll on the teenage years!), we went and joined the library, stopped at my dad's on the way home for a biscuit based lunch. Got back home to find my brother had bought one of those shell paddling pools. Water in one side, balls in the other, Fartypants and the littlest niece both had a grand time. Now just hoping bath and bedtime goes smoothly. After which I plan to eat a vegetable medley with cheese and bacon on top, then collapse in a heap.

Whoop whoop whoop!!! Our Plonksome friend is getting married in the morning Smile There's a lot of love around here Plonky and it's all because of your special day. Have a lovely lovely time and take Doli's advice but don't worry if you don't er...formalise things afterwards....I didn't Come back to us after Dorset and tell us all about everything. Remember Betty and I have a very high threshold for wedding detail and I daresay everyone else has too.

Gerry sounds like you've got that journey planned really well. And your marking is out of the way. With lovely countryside and peace and quiet you have a good recipe for relaxing and chatting. Enjoy yourselves and give my love to that lovely rocky shoreline.

Stormy you cracked her! The lurgy went. Very Envy of that lie in. You get a nap out of her too?

We went to our new toddler group meet up in a local park today. It's hard just rocking up and infiltrating the existing little cliques of mummies Sad

On the bright side we have a whole weekend together in our new home so hoping we do all those last jobs and get properly settled. I'll also be checking Facebook from time to time (!) in case Something posts any lovely sneaky pics of plonk in her frock Smile

Anypants · 25/07/2014 21:41

Howdy all!

Plonky - I hope you have a drink in your hand with someone else painting your toenails (SIL? Wink ) and reeeeeelllllaaaaaaxing before the quickest day of your life. Every once in a while, stop and take in what's happening. Like a mental photograph. You'll smile at all the people enjoying your hard work. Then make sure you have a drink in your hand.
I hope it all goes amazingly tomorrow - you'll love it!

So, i'm back and it was an ok holiday in terms of brilliant weather but I was pretty much doing exactly what I do every day but with the added challenge of being on a boat (which DD loved a lot, hence not much sleeping Sad ) Reeeeeeaaaallllly got annoyed a few times, mumbling 'it's not a f*ing holiday' as I washed up each evening. Gah. Still, a change is as good as a rest, they say. I guess there's no such thing as a truly relaxing holiday with a toddler Hmm Roll on Center Parcs in the Autumn.

Hugs and sloppy kisses to you all (weeeellll, it is Friday) - I missed you Blush

BettyOff · 25/07/2014 23:12

Plonky's getting married in the morning and the sexy bastard sun is going to shine in bestest singing voice Grin

My bestest bit of advice was to go outside with DH at about 11pm and look back in at all the people you love, half cut and dancing like fools in your honour. It's one of my favourite memories although we did have to wade through a foot of snow to get to the window

Something we demand a photo on the Marchers page!!!

I've just finished a manic day on call but it was my last on call in Hull and I'm a little bit Sad. It'll be nice not to see quite so much of the M62 every day though!

Happy sexy bastarding Friday all you luscious lovelies. WineWineWineWineWine

WottaMess · 26/07/2014 06:54

ecofreckle · 26/07/2014 07:33

Plonky hope you awoke to a spot free face and sunshine. Don't forget to eat breakfast. By now you deserve a pasta sandwich wrapped in pastry. Have fun dear Plonky and let it all unfold around you. X

StormyBrid · 26/07/2014 08:33

Plonky! I don't know what to say except you're getting married! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

dolicapax · 26/07/2014 08:39

Plonky I'm so very excited. Have a great day!!!!!!! You're going to look beautiful. We're going to need photos Grin

In your honour the toddle has decided to co-sleep this morning and is currently upstairs snoring away in harmony with DH. So cute. Certainly beats us all getting up and having breakfast at 5am which is when she originally decided the day had started.

somethingbeginningwith · 26/07/2014 09:33

WEDDING TIME!!! Grin Wine

Keep your eyes peeled on that there Marchers page, I'm gonna flood it for you Wink

I should probably get out of bed and find those dancing shoes and buy bags and bags of confetti to throw at her all day long.

yummychocolate · 26/07/2014 09:45

plonky your day has finally arrived. Have a lovely day. Drink loads dance loads and just enjoy every minute of your day. All those months of preparation and the day just flies by.

somethingbeginningwith · 26/07/2014 10:10

And although DS was up at 2 then 3 then 4-7, he's asleep now, which can only mean he's going to be ready and raring to go all night long on the disco floor!

Anypants · 26/07/2014 13:05
