How many feeds a day were you doing, Kayz? How do your boobs feel now, after 36 hours?

beans37 · 22/11/2013 21:38

Am off to sleep now. Night all x

Mckayz · 22/11/2013 21:51

I was just feeding during the night Beans, so maybe 3-4 feeds. Feeling fairly normal at the minute.

DeidreBarlow · 23/11/2013 08:11

Kayz I was feeding DS 2 or 3 times a night when I stopped. Then he'd miss the odd night. I just stopped no engorgement. Although I'm not sure that's right but if your boobs feel ok you should be fine.

DS has a party every weekend for the next 4 weeks! He has a better social life than me! His own is tomorrow, 20 kids in a soft play hell. Joy. I cannot believe he is 5!! He is rather excited. It's his first 'real' party. All others have been a mix of cousins & DD's pals.

Indith · 23/11/2013 08:20

You should be fine kayz, especially if you are at 36 hours since a feed with no problems.

beans hope the poo had calmed! Also hope the building work goes ok. Will be worth it and worth getting right.

Hello ladyt!

so tired dh was out worth rugby dads last night. I had friends round. trouble is I still can't get ds2 down, only dh can. got him to sleep, tried, he screamed. Then friends arrived so there was no chance. He was fine, chilled and didn't get in the way but didn't get him to sleep again until after they leftso that was 1130 or so. dh cane home at since point and managed to transfer him to his bed at 1am. He woke up several million times at night, I've fed him loads as of course dh not in a great state. and he woke early. of course. so have had sod all sleep! dh still in bed. dd still in bed. ds1 on beaver sleepover so at least don't have him bounding around. ds2 and me eating crumpets and watching beebies.

village Christmas fayre this afternoon. It kept getting cancelled due to deep snow so they have started doing it really early Grin .

RTjoke · 23/11/2013 09:46

LadyT I do love your catch-ups. How on earth do you rememberso much of what has been said? Sorry to hear about your parking battles and your spot but on the bright side it is great that your DH has lost such a lot of weight, I know you have always wished he would take better care of himself. I have started the parenting course, so far it's all stuff I know but it is useful to have two hours a week to really reflect on how I parent. Sadly they have yet to teach the easy, kind yet 100% foolproof way of dealing with highly sensitive and rather difficult Reception starters!

Kayz, I got mastitis both times when I stopped feeding the DDs and they were both down to only one feed in 24 hours when I stopped. I'm very prone to it though. Just keep a close eye out for symptoms if flu.

ZJ do you mean a box of interesting things for a baby? If so I've seen some great ideas on MN threads, maybe try a search (my memory is shot so I cannot think of any specifics right now).

DS slept 6.45pm-6.15am without a peep! His best night ever! I'm so happy.

It's all three kids christening today. I really hope they behave. DD2 is running round shouting "I cannot wait to be a Christian"! She also asked if Jesus could come to the service. DD1 announced at breakfast that she doesn't believe in Jesus because nobody can walk on water. The pre-meeting with the vicar should be fun.

RTjoke · 23/11/2013 10:55

Fricking heck, DD2 has a fever of 38.9. Can't cancel the christening as family travelled from the US. Bugger, bugger, bugger.

Indith · 23/11/2013 11:14

Drug her and hope for the best?

How is she in herself?

Hope it goes ok!

Sure family will understand though if you cancel, not a whole lot you can do!

Rubena · 23/11/2013 11:21

Oh no Arti hope she comes good drugged.
Priceless that dd convo. I'm with dd1!
Went to watch dds ballet / performing arts she's starting in Jan. So cute. Now at ds swimming. On it goes. Bike riding this arvy.
Owner still keen for us to buy. Says we can work something out Hmm maybe he's going to give it to us Grin

DeidreBarlow · 23/11/2013 11:36

Agreed, give her some Calpol & fluids and hope for the best? How is she in herself (other than being overly optimistic that Jesus is coming!!)?

I'm always amazed how quickly mine respond to Calpol its a wonder drug!

Rubena · 23/11/2013 12:03

Calpol with ibuprofen Arti. Hope she's ok

Rubena · 23/11/2013 12:03

Deids good luck with the party. Stuff drink before and after. I have the same next month. Eek!

Rubena · 23/11/2013 12:04

StIFF drink! Don't stuff the drink Grin

Nolda · 23/11/2013 12:49

Arti, hope you have managed to drug DD2 sufficiently and are now enjoying the christening. My younger sister was always ill at weddings and christenings. My other sister and I used to tease her terribly with references to the Omen etc

Indith · 23/11/2013 16:07

I'm sad. Got very excited when bras arrived in post today (fab service Bravissimo!) but they don't fit :(.

I will send them back, have reserved my exchanges by phone. Hope new ones fit. But have to wait for mine to get back to them and be processed and then for new ones to arrive. :(

Current ones are too big in back and cup and underwire comes up too high in the middle and is making me very sore.

Mckayz · 23/11/2013 19:46

I really need some new bras. Some that aren't feeding ones will be nice!

Indith · 23/11/2013 20:16

I've been out of feeding ones since I stated at uni and didn't feed so much in the day. The cleo juna is nice and easy to hoik boobs out of If needed. Not that you will need that kayz Grin . Give your boobs a bit to get back to normal and treat yourself to a decent fitting somewhere good. I think there is a really good independent in York.

Mckayz · 23/11/2013 21:38

I might ask DH to get me some nice pjs. I've been living in button front feeding nighties for 17 months!

Can't believe I fed her this long after the disaster with ds2 and how hard it was to get started.

Indith · 23/11/2013 21:52
Grin well done you.
Mckayz · 24/11/2013 13:34

DH has asked me if I plan to go back to work. He's not fussed just wondering.

The only job I've ever wanted to do is be a flight attendant but XH persuaded me not to do it as he'd never see me. Sad

I need some inspiration.

Indith · 24/11/2013 13:56

What makes you tick? When was the last time you did something that left you feeling fulfilled? find those feelings and go from there.

Mckayz · 24/11/2013 13:58

I have no idea.

Mckayz · 24/11/2013 14:00

I think I'm struggling as I find it all pointless because DH works away I can only work between 9-3 or give all my wages to childcare like I did before.

Indith · 24/11/2013 14:16

most of us have to pay childcare. That's why you need something you really want to do! Or you remind yourself that the childcare is short term. You get promotions so more money to take home, children grow and need less childcare.

But that's all a moot point really of you don't have something you want to do.

Do you like being at home with the children? As you say you don't have to go back to work. It is ok to just want to be a sahm.

Mckayz · 24/11/2013 14:40

Yeah I love it.

When I worked before childcare cost £250 more than I got paid. I just don't see the point really if I have nothing to show for it.
