Our first thread has almost finished so I thought we'd need a new one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsbugsywugsy · 08/04/2013 14:43

tugs we have DTD twice since dd was born, we're always tired and I don't have the urge.

glorious · 08/04/2013 15:07

tugs we tried once and it was too painful so now waiting a bit longer. So perhaps a longer wait would've been better all round.

Wuxiapian · 08/04/2013 16:04

Here, tugs! Still not dtd over here!

lolli, hope LO feeling better.

lollipoppi · 08/04/2013 16:51

The hospital called me earlier, they had been looking over her notes and wanted her back in for tests. Also having spoke to my mum, my 2 brothers has pyloric stenosis as babies and it is hereditary. Just waiting for the doctors to see her and will keep you updated.

I'm dreading what tests they will do Hmm

theboutiquemummy · 08/04/2013 17:12

Oh lollipop big hugs fingers crossed they get it sorted it's amazing how resilient these LO's are x

On that note how did everyone find the 2nd set of Jabs dreading it x

Birdies · 08/04/2013 17:13

Ah lolli that's tough, are you having to stay at the hospital or will the tests be done in a day? I'm sure they will take good care of her.

Quick question for everyone - in total how much does your baby sleep during the day (typically)?

Birdies · 08/04/2013 17:14

theboutique second set were fine. Quite restless in the night with a temp near to 38 but didn't need to go for the calpol. Was fine the next day.

Birdies · 08/04/2013 17:16

Me again. Just remembered someone asked about TV watching. It's on ALOT in our house, both girls love it. Only watch Baby TV though - must be ok if made for babies?!

Recent study said up to 3 hours a day does no harm whatsoever.

Pascha · 08/04/2013 17:21

CBeebies has taken up residence here. Its how I get the washing done.

Daniel's second jabs were fine. A quick scream as the needles went in but smiling at the nurse within a couple of minutes. No temp, no grizzles, nothing.

Typical days nap are about 3 hours in total if we are at home, longer if we are out as he generally sleeps in the sling and the carseat.

Birdies · 08/04/2013 17:27

X wakes every 30-40 mins in the day and has 4 naps (so between 2 and 2.5 hours). And 11 hours last night (no not in a row!). So I think she's not getting quite enough sleep.

How long does Dan sleep in the night?

Berniebennett · 08/04/2013 17:55

2nd lot of injections done today and he was a lot better still a little snuggle monster all day but no complaints here ;-)

Sleeping wise I never normally let him go more then 2.5 hours off being awake as he gets too overtired, but its normally about 45-60 mins in the morning 2 hours over lunch and about 45-60 mins afternoon then sleeps from 8-7 (Dream feed at 10.15)! Some babies need more/less then others and I just remember someone telling me that as long as they are sleeping at night then let them sleep as much as they want during the day but adjust it if they are not sleeping well at night!

Loli I hope everything turns out ok for DD

Pascha · 08/04/2013 17:58

We seem to be doing 7.30pm-about 8.30pm, then demand a feed, then 8.45-6ish with a couple of feeds in between. Its not as good as it could be, TBH.

glorious · 08/04/2013 18:17

Oh lolli sorry you're having to go back and hope the tests aren't too bad.

Ellen sleeps about 3 or 4 hours in the day but only if I hold her or have her in the sling. She doesn't sleep in the car or pram. At night she's going from somewhere between 930 and 1030 for 5 to 6 hours then a feed and another 1.5 to 2 hours so getting up around 7. After that if I want more sleep we have to cosleep and drift off feeding. She's 9 weeks (already!).

Louise85 · 08/04/2013 20:53

So glad some (most) of you ladies aren't up for dtd...tbh dh is desperate but I really don't have the urge, and like after dd, I've been bleeding for a month now...with dd, it lasted nearly 6 months before I got it sorted, so not looking forward to the next 5...poor dh Wink

Lolli - keep us posted - hope you get the tests done quickly so it can all be sorted out for her, poor little thing Sad

Had a horrible day with ds, constantly over-tired...he only wakes up for an hour at a time before going from happy to screaming over-tired in 0.5 seconds Hmm ... it seems all he does is sleep all day (ummm, well he tries, but it seems he screams all day or I'm running up the stairs to pop the dummy in) he slept through his main feed this evening when he usually takes 300ml Shock, but he was so tired I just left him...not looking forward to tonight....

moan over. sorry Blush

Hormonalhell · 08/04/2013 22:08

Charlie sleeps a lot during the day and at night too! He goes down at around 7.30-8 and then sleeps til 6am am very lucky Grin

Makes up for the bad few weeks he had colic!

Hormonalhell · 08/04/2013 22:16

Charlie also smiles at Baby Tv Grin I put Jin in his bouncer to watch it whilst I clean his bottles

AppleCrumples · 08/04/2013 22:50

Ivy seems to love the telly! Makes me a bit Blush Hmm that it seems to always be on when we're in. I should make them turn it off but frankly i quite like phineus & ferb and sometimes watch it when dcs not there

lolli hope everything is ok with little Darcie x

Lora1982 · 08/04/2013 23:41

Dexters currently watching Fringe

Meringue33 · 09/04/2013 02:03

Lolli sorry hope everything works out ok with your LO

Tugs we have Dtd about 3 times... Very very quick as in fear of LO waking up! It did feel really wrong to me at first, almost like I was being unfaithful to DS by being so intimate with DH...

LO is getting better at self settling tho it is easier for my mum or DP to put him down than me. Helps if he has a mobile or something to gaze at while he nods off. He often naps six hours a day! And this seems to have no effect on his sleep at night.

So I caught some sort of stomach bug while at my mums and am fasting on doc advice. Mum has been great looking after LO so u can rest and sleep... Was woken by crying earlier got up to investigate and she was trying to change him... Poor mum had got stuck with a 2 day poonami for her first nappy change in 24 years it was everywhere, all over her as well as DS!

lollipoppi · 09/04/2013 08:54

Good news everyone, a lovely consultant came to see her last night who specialises is infant stomach problems, I said that I would rather not subject her to blood tests if it was unnecessary and thank god he agreed!
He monitored her during her feed (apparently the stomach ripples if its pylorics)
He is 90% certain it's not pyloric stenosis and to carry on treating it as reflux and maybe a touch of a viral bug, so we were discharged at 11pm

Honestly can't tell you how relieved I am, the thought of my baby having an operation made me feel physically sick!

Dd sleeps quite a lot in the day, I've never really summed up how much, but she sleeps well at night so I'm kind of being led by her really

we have dtd 4 times, it feels too weird doing it with dd asleep in her Moses!!

Lora1982 · 09/04/2013 09:20

Im pleased about the lack of operation lolli, cant imagine your relief!!

for those who have had second jabs did they run a temp 1st and 2nd time or were they a bit better? Im going to prepare the calpol again i think , just incase, cos im still in awe after last time.

Pascha · 09/04/2013 09:33

Brilliant news Lolli Get well soon Darcie.

No temp here Lora, 1st jabs he was evil tempered and screamy and gave the nurse disgusting looks as if to say "your card's marked, mate" 2nd jabs he was fine. All smiles within a minute and by the time we left you wouldn't have thought anything happened at all.

AppleCrumples · 09/04/2013 10:05

I have had lots of sleep! Grin Ivy settlee in her crib at 9 then she woke me up at 3 then slept for another 4 hours! Longest she has ever slept! I don't mind getting up once as she generally feeds quickly qnd goes straight back to sleep. fails to mention pita 9 year old who won't behave at night anymore

Lolli so pleased to hear no op needed. You must be so relieved x

Birdies · 09/04/2013 10:38

I think she had a slightly raised temp both times but nothing too bad. I just took some layers off and after a couple of hours it seemed to have gone down again. No other side effects except for a red bit around one of her thighs.

lolli great news about your DD.

I'm now doing 3 feeds a night. Bit confused as not sure what I'm doing wrong. Back to being so tired in the night i cant remember putting her back in her bed! Still, nothing like the early days of feeds every couple of hours.

Lora1982 · 09/04/2013 10:51

16lb 2 & half!! Shock a stone and a bit! Hes 13 wks so if i go by that daft chart hes around 90th centile. I just sat him on my scales the chubster. The nurse will probably need a double dose later :-D
