StoneBaby · 28/05/2013 21:07

bc he seems to understand his actions. Fx he'll improve and well done on the fear-therapy

mous how is the house refurb going?

Waves to all

Bit worried about dd2 (BG here). dh was in charge for the day and I just came back from work to be told she was asleep in bed before 6 because she wasn't well all day. She kept saying her head hurts Sad. She did go along to a soft play type centre and jumped around like a loon, but afterwards felt worse. dh didn't think of offering her calpol, but she asked to go to bed early. Poor little thing. I'm a bit worried because I think it is quite unusual for a 3 year old to be so specific and say they have a headache. From what I read they can't really locate that type of pain too well and tend to say they have a tummy ache. dd2 has had quite a few headaches lately... Hope it's just a cold and nothing more serious.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 29/05/2013 19:21

Poor DD2. Has she dank enough during the day? DD1 complains a lot (tummy and headache since very little) and often because she hasn't drank anything (DH often forget that point and she is not asking). Hope that all she needs is sleep.

Not well SB, we have instructed the tenants to bleach the mould, and forbade them to repaint the rooms until it is fixed. There was some leak in the roof and some damage from that but most of it is condensation due to their habits makes me a bit sick I did refurbish the house on my own while DH was already abroad, it is all ruined and unsalable ... Sad

JewelFairies · 29/05/2013 19:37

Mous That was my first thought but dh and dd1 have just confirmed that dd2 had lots of water and also drank juice. Just checked on her and she is fast asleep but keeps catching her breath. If she does that in her sleep her headache must be bad. I'm concerned enough to rouse her a bit later to check for temperature and rashes. Or maybe I am overreacting because I wasn't here today and didn't see her unwell.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 29/05/2013 20:45

Aw JF, sorry to hear about DD2, poor thing. I hope whatever it is clears up soon...

Bc chuffed to hear how your play therapy has helped with a couple of your DS' issues! It's amazing how powerful it can be. I wish there were more trained play therapists around. Part of me wonders if I should try to get trained up, but another part of me wonders if I could hack working with small children all day Smile

Mous sorry to hear about the house situation. Bah.

Japan rainbow, ooh!!

Well, DD had her pre-school jabs today - DH took her (DD's choice) and we had bought her a chocolate treat to have afterwards. I was fully expecting tales of screaming and tears and was delighted to learn that DD barely whimpered. The nurses were so lovely and so good at distracting DD by asking her to count stars on a poster (not to mention speedy at administrating the jabs - both at the same time), but DD's own courage was the main factor. She was mightily proud of herself, not to mention pleased at all the chocolate, the stickers and the certificate for bravery.

We also had another swimming session with continued improvements in DD's confidence in the water. We're starting to tentatively consider a course of beginners' lessons for her, but will see how it goes. DS loved it as usual.

DS is 9 months and starting to make up for lost time on the mobility front. He now rolls enthusiastically all over the place and I can see that he's starting to work on forward and backward motion. We've had to pen him into his cot at night now as he was throwing himself out of it (and on top of me!) He had several nights of a high temperature which I thought might turn out to be Roseola, but instead of a rash it resolved into a cold which well and truly bunged him up for a night (with accompanying bad sleep - for all of us) then miraculously decongested the next day - thankfully. What with the 9moSR, the changed sleeping environment and DS being hyped with all his rolling, we can do without any more reasons for him to wake up at night! Thank goodness it's half term so I've been able to make up some of the lost sleep in siestas while DH holds the fort....

Just woke dd2 slightly to check her over. She does have a high temperature and is now quite jittery. Gave her calpol and water and she's gone back to sleep. No idea why I was so worried. It's not the first cold she's had so it must be mummy guilt that's caught up with me Sad.

IC Glad your dd did so well. I still haven't had a reminder. May phone the surgery tomorrow to check they haven't done more cost cutting (I no longer get flu jab reminders either).

ScienceRocks · 29/05/2013 23:01

Hope she sleeps well and is better in the morning JF.

IC, good work on the jabs.

Mous, sorry the house is such a nightmare.

StoneBaby · 30/05/2013 13:09

JF how is your DD2? I hate this mother gult despites living with it every day as a FT working mum

DS imms are booked for next week. I was not expecting a reminder for it (SR my surgery did not sent flu jab letter this winter due to operating cost instead they put an ad in the paper

JewelFairies · 30/05/2013 14:54

Dd2 woke at 7.30 and was cross that the sun on her grow clock was awake already Smile. She's still a bit hot but otherwise fine.

CP How are things going? The end of this week will be rather nice when you get paid for 6 weeks!! I'd go out and celebrate... Wink

Mous Your house problems make me quite nervous. We have a new tenant in ours and you never know what people are like Shock.

JewelFairies · 30/05/2013 18:06

Dd2 asleep already! Whatever she's got, she is incredibly accepting of feeling ill and just asks to go to bed early. (Wish I was such a patient patient!)

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 31/05/2013 08:05

JF how is your DD2?

DD1 has a school place (surprisingly painless process despite what you hear on here) she starts on monday with swimming lessons no doubt she will catch something and be off for the rest of the year

DD2 is jealous and keep asking where is her school...

DH needs a massive kick up the &@$%@ not sure what to do with him

rainbowweaver · 31/05/2013 08:33

We mostly stayed in the hotel though so not much sightseeing there. I did manage to take an afternoon during a particularly dull slot to walk about and take the local buses. And it was at least near the sea.

Run was fantastic mous thanks, managed to finish the10k in 65 mins which was my best time by 10 mins at least, and also furthest distance (previous distance was 7km). It was a great atmosphere and luckily we had good weather too.

jf love the new name. Hope DD is feeling much better today. Take a deep breath mous the house can be repaired maybe slowly, can you take the tenants' deposit?

rainbowweaver · 31/05/2013 08:36

Maybe have a massive row? Then once it's all out have a good connecting chat? :). DH and I occasionally havebuild ups which we clear out with a good blow up!

rainbowweaver · 31/05/2013 08:37

Therewas a gap of 2 days in between the2 posts, was interrupted halfway and only saw theotherposts this morning!

JewelFairies · 31/05/2013 18:04

Mous How exciting for your dd1! Smile I think most of the school problems are at reception stage, not so much for older children. Which UK year is she going into? And will she have to do Welsh? I can understand why your dd2 is not best pleased though Sad. Is there anything at all around that she could go to?

We've had a quiet day today. The girls had plenty of excitement this week due to half term and having dh at home some of the time. Meant to go to the beach today but then dd1 was unusually whiney and dd2 not quite right either. Put them in the bath together for an hour to splash around and cheer up a bit. Then went shopping and dd2 immediately flagged and started crying. As soon as we got home she crawled into bed and slept for an hour and a half. Whatever she's got, it doesn't seem pleasant. She's also got a bit of a rash so I did consider measles...

Waves at everyone.

ClimbingPenguin · 01/06/2013 07:24

DD had quite a nasty one last week, napped for five days and bed early every day. I'm sure she'll get better soon hut it is still funny when they have a non typical illness. For her it was a sore throat that upset her the most, the 39.7 fever for three days she was alright with.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 01/06/2013 08:32

JF Y3 and yes to Welsh! The playground is fantastic though I am sure she will like it.
Measles rash is quite typical even for a mild case it starts behind the ears. Have a quiet week end, I hope she gets better soon.

Seems to be a nice day in the making... (FX), I forgot DD2 nappy last night and of course she choose this night to pee in bed (she is usually dry in the morning now!)

JewelFairies · 01/06/2013 08:44

This is more like it. Can't remember the last time I had a lie in until 8! Then the girls played happily, letting me snooze a bit more. They've just gone to lay the table for breakfast with much giggling, and have made themselves cereal. Now all I have to do is to teach dd1 to make coffee and I'm sorted.... Grin
(Having said that I was up with Dd2 about four times last night so appreciated the lie in)

StoneBaby · 01/06/2013 19:56

JF how is your DD2 doing today?

JewelFairies · 02/06/2013 08:07

SB She was better yesterday apart from two spectacular melt downs Smile.
More lie ins for us today... I'm the first one awake. Later mornings just in time for school tomorrow Hmm. Not looking forward to getting the girls out of bed tomorrow.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 02/06/2013 08:36

JF that typical! 1st day of school for DD1 and it is almost certain that I will have to wake her up even if she has been up at 6 almost all week (7 today!) Glad your DD2 is better.

JewelFairies · 02/06/2013 09:23

CP Hope your dd is better again too.
Survival Hugs, Brew and Biscuit
Waving to everyone else

ClimbingPenguin · 02/06/2013 11:34

She is alright apart from being right moody

I wrote it to mention that she complained of both eye and throat pain. She correctly tells me when she feels sick as well.

ILs are here, well they were before briefly bundling the children out the door.

StoneBaby · 02/06/2013 18:25

CP good luck with your ILs

mous fx your dd1 firstday at school goes fine

I think DS is having yet another growth spurt as he's eating everything put in front of him or in my handbag
