Urgh, how the hell do you get them to open their bloody fists for hand prints?! Am resorting to trying to do it when he's asleep. If that doesn't work I give up!!

Just managed to catch up and find you all again.

I'm waiting in for the midwife. Ds3 hadn't gained any weight when she weighed him on Friday so she's coming to check him again. Have tried to feed him up all weekend and try not to stress about it too much. He seems happy enough and I was ill for a time which probably didn't help. Fingers crossed he's gained today.

So I''m stuck in on my own as the others have gone out to get on with Christmas stuff Sad I'm just hoping she comes before it's time for church. I really don't want to miss it.

Merry Christmas to all have lovely days tomorrow with your newly grown families Xmas Smile

The midwife has been to visit and has signed us off. Edward lost 2 oz off his birth weight when he was weighed last but has now put on a massive 5oz so he is 3oz up on birth weight. It would seen that my milk is good stuff for a growing baby! Also, he only woke up once last night which was fantastic.

In other news about my nether region, the health visitor also visited today and she seems to think that I may have vulval variscosities. She knew lots about them because she also had them after she had a baby - fortunately this is a health visitor I know well from work and she and I can talk about absolutely anything.

She agreed they are more painful than anything else, including childbirth, and there is not much I can do about them other than recline as much as possible to take the weight off my pelvic area and to take anti-inflammatories and painkillers. She reckons that it took a good 2-3 weeks to stop hurting. Bugger!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Midwife has just been here too. She told me to get the gp to make a home visit as there have been a few babies diagnosed with pneumonia recently and she didn't want Jude going out in this weather....cue call to surgery and despite my insistence, as well as relaying the midwives instructions, gp refuses to come, so Jude will need to go out after all.

I don't expect the baby to have more than a cold and a high temp but all the same, I'm bloody fuming!

Had to get that off my chest.

I can't add to the stats list as I'm on my phone...

Ouch FoD I feel for you. I found the gel (preparation h?) quite soothing for that with dd (I don't know if it's recommended or not Confused)

Hope all are having a fantastic Christmas. I've been very spoilt- DH got me a relaxation kit of bubble baths, chocolate, body butter, body scrub and the promise of looking after Dash while I make use of them! Dash got me an early edition of one of my favourite books. Very spoilt mummy!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Congratulations to all the new arrivals. I wonder if we've had any Christmas day babies!

Thanks for all the advice on baths, I thought it was different to what I remembered. Anyway I had a lovely bath this morning (boxing day here) and it was nice to lean back and not be squashed by my bump!

Christmas day was hard work for us. DS has a cold and his bum was still v raw so he was extremely grumpy. Between 7am and 3pm he slept for 20 mins and spent the rest of the time crying. We muddled through it though and the DCs were distracted by their new toys. His bum seems a bit better today after our trip to the GP on Monday. He's still pooing all the time though. We got through 50 nappies in a day and a half!

Spotty DD used to do green poo a lot, DS hasn't done one yet though. I could never figure out what caused it but she always seemed quite unsettled beforehand.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/12/2012 23:00

We have lots of poo to seymore I was told green poo can mean too much foremilk? It's the first one though so will just keep an eye on it...

Ds won't settle tonight and dp is asleep next to me Sad
