Come in, sit down, fresh coffee is brewing, Prosecco's in the fridge for later and there's a bumper box of Lindt chocolates for all....

I have to be more careful when I write because dd2 seems to read over my shoulder and makes a point of contradicting me. She's just insisted on eating lambs lettuce!!

BabyGiraffes · 16/11/2012 11:45

... and potato salad! Two new things today!! Shock

ScienceRocks · 16/11/2012 13:47
LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 16/11/2012 16:17

BG the girls must have called each other! DD2 ate baby spinach leaves tonight Shock! And is supposed to have eaten cabbage at lunch

science

CP good luck with your application,

BabyGiraffes · 16/11/2012 16:24

mous I knew I shouldn't leave my phone lying around Grin

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 16/11/2012 16:48

Grin brace yourself for a big bill DD2 is very talkative even if nobody understands...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/11/2012 20:09

Envy at the vegetable consumption..!

So me and DH were supposed to have a meal out (delay from our anniversary) but DD woke DS while I was picking up the babysitter and he's still awake now. Babysitter has been returned home but we do have a takeaway on order.

BabyGiraffes · 16/11/2012 21:28

CP Sorry to hear that but hope you don't take it to heart. Plenty more opportunities (and anniversaries) Smile. Dh and I meant to take advantage of my mum being here but when the evening came we really didn't feel like going anywhere in the pouring rain and in the end didn't bother.

BabyGiraffes · 16/11/2012 21:29

IC I assure you it was a one off Grin

Climbingpenguin · 16/11/2012 21:34

I know it's just I was ill for all those weeks and DH has been ill since. We've spent hardly anytime together as one of us has always been in bed from 8.

My mum is up in a few weeks so hopefully

Also DH got re-offered the london job, negotiations are once again taking place.

BabyGiraffes · 16/11/2012 22:07

CP scary [the job offer]. Sounds like they really want him!! How do you feel about it? If he commuted you'd effectively be a single parent... If you all moved you might be less well off due to higher rents. Tricky. (Mind you, commuting from Cambridge is do-able.. And nice if you get that fellowship!)

Climbingpenguin · 16/11/2012 22:11

he would only have to be in the office half the time.

it's silly that he's supposedly on loads more money but actually we'll see a slight drop in our monthly budget.

DS still not off to sleep, will be my shift in a minute so DH can eat his part of the takeaway (he can't even do that together)

Climbingpenguin · 17/11/2012 08:26

11:15 he went off, 6:00 he woke up

DD spent the night in her room and I only went to her once. DS actually slept with me and (i) went to sleep and (ii) accepted not being latched on

BabyGiraffes · 17/11/2012 09:33

CP Result! Smile

StoneBaby · 17/11/2012 14:01

CP good news.

Self centered post alert:
I have just learnt that a friend is 11 weeks pg. As a result I feel miserable and envious as it seems I can't get pg easily this time (due to my cycle been irregular). I have to keep smiling especially as DS won't understand why I'm upset.

On a positive note DS and I havr continued our sugar figurines to decorate the christmas cake.

Climbingpenguin · 17/11/2012 14:06

sb it is going to feel like a kick in the teeth, regardless of what your rational brain tells you.

Let DS distract you for the day and indulge yourself this evening

BabyGiraffes · 17/11/2012 14:31

SB

Great hilarity in the park just now when dd2 finally realised that the figure in the fountain is indeed a very naked boy... Grin. Rustling through leaves was spoilt though when she stepped ankle deep into a huge pile of dog shit Angry. I don't believe in dogs as pets and would happily see them culled

InmaculadaConcepcion · 17/11/2012 15:32

CP yay at the better night, sounds like they owed you one!!
I hope the job negotiations turn out the way you want them to.

Boo SB can understand how you feel, but don't lose heart - you'll do it!

Dog poo, bleugh BG - I get furious at dog-owners who don't Pick Up After Their Pets too...... Maybe there should be a law that dogs wear colostomy type bags when out and about...??

DS was awake four times overnight for a feed, but no nappy change required until 05.30 and DH did it, hoorah! Even better, DS came in to bed for a nuzzle with me and fell asleep beside me...DH got up for DD at 07.30 and DS didn't wake up again until 08.30....bliss!! I do love a Saturday morning lie-in!! Smile

Climbingpenguin · 17/11/2012 15:42

oh he still fed at 3 but still pretty good

BabyGiraffes · 17/11/2012 16:39

I've left dd2's shoes outside the front door... dh is very good at cleaning shoes Grin

StoneBaby · 17/11/2012 20:54

BG Grin and beurk. i fully understand your anger...

CP I hope you'll have antoher good night.

IC great news on the lie-in.

I took DS to the gp this morning as his cold is not improving and his cought is getting worse. So he's got a mild chest infection. So he's on AB. DH is not convince we should go swimming tomorrow, so we'll see I may get a lie-in Grin Hmm Hmm

DS stayed up until 7pm tonight and had a massive meltsown at bath time due to over tiredness I guess. fx he'll sleep fine.

stoofadoof · 17/11/2012 21:27

helloo

just a quicky, marking my place and reporting in on hols (cos I know you've all been eagerly anticipating!)

good things (in no particular order) relaxing happy few days with both the kids and DH. No internet, meaning DH (and I!!) couldn't absent mindedly pootle about on t'internet for endless hours ignoring each other/the kids/the enormous long list of stuff that needs doing. heating. underfloor heating in bathroom. shower. dishwasher. red squirrels we fed every morning. DD's water confidence growing :) DS's chuckling delight at the mechanical elves wrapping prezzies in the fake north pole.

bad things DS getting another bug and trip to the docs (another plus point of holidaying 30 mins from home Wink) DS fine, just coughing and snotty. And now both DH and I have been asked by the docs about our mental health (in a very gentle way!) We're fine, just not very robust yet about the kids health? DS back at the hospital nxt week, hoping he will be discharged?

well that was quite a mark, as well as being rather more me me me than i'd set out for? hum. hope all's well with everyone? just realised i've not read the last page of posts before writing this? so apologies if i've missed anything!

stoofadoof · 17/11/2012 21:35

and I did miss quite a few - sorry!

SB and CP
Grin BG IC
for everyone else...

stoofadoof · 17/11/2012 21:36
