Tried to post on the original thread and my post got rejected as its full! Have copied and pasted below....

Congrats on the job offer ttl...hope the other one comes up trumps for you too.

Dd isn't quite crawling yet, but would very much like to. She is the queen of the Klingons at the moment, and has a meltdown the second I put her down, look in the opposite direction, or if someone else so much as looks at her. Not all the time thankfully, but definitely for part of every day.

On the bf thing, it's so personal.....I've just dropped doing the afternoon feed myself be cause dd is so distractible that she bobs on and off, which I don't like around other people, and now she finally has teeth the constant latch on/off was really hurting. I just bf once a day, our morning snuggle when she's nice and calm. I would be sad to give that one up just yet.

Hello all

WingDefence · 03/06/2013 20:05

Hi Frustrated! I think you said on the grads thread that your DS is now 18-ish days old? Is this your first (sorry, I can't remember)?

How's it all going? Are you managing to get some sleep? :)

somethingwittynot · 03/06/2013 20:16

Hi all ive been away for a bit some family stuff needed attention. New phone now so can finally keep up with you all. Henry is 4 months on the 12th and we had our first giggle the other day!

WingDefence · 03/06/2013 20:24

Hope everything's okay with the family stuff something. Four months? Wow! Looks like he's been getting on with his big brother too :) My DS really loves DD and I'm almost surprised just how much actually - I thought he'd be just bored with her!

somethingwittynot · 03/06/2013 20:33

Just BIL and SIL being their usual stupid selfs! There back together for now but I give them two weeks.
Yeah times going so! DS1 really loves DS2 he tries to pick him up and puts him on his shoulder cuddles and kisses him and strokes his head all the time.

Isnt the sibbling bond just lovely?

tiredteddy · 03/06/2013 21:23

Ooh look how busy it is here! Hooray GrinSmileWink

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 03/06/2013 22:53

Hi wing ds is 2.5ish weeks. He's my 3rd dc, but 1st boy. Dds are school age, so it's nice to have a little snuggly one to myself all day. It's like having just the 1 all over again.

Sleep is overrated, Grin dd doesn't sleep but ds is really good, I only need to wake long enough to help him latch on. I'm so lazy Grin luckily so is he.

WingDefence · 04/06/2013 03:27

Well I'm up for a night feed! DD can go for 6 hours and has done 7 but this is a 4.5hr stretch tonight.

I find if I feed her in bed I fall asleep which I don't like so I come into what will be her room next door and go on the Internet ie MN while she's feeding.

Then for any feeds that happen 5am or later, u bring her into bed, lay her down next to me (duvet and pillows away from her of course) and shove my boob in her mouth and we both doze after that. I hope I'm not making a rod for my own back but it's far easier to do!

somethingwittynot · 04/06/2013 10:11

Both boys are napping so having some me time. Got to make DPs birthday cake for tomorrow. A year ago tomorrow henry was concieved. You can tell what happened on his birthday! Grin Wink

WingDefence · 04/06/2013 12:22

Mmm cake!

Isn't this weather stunning?! Well it is where I am - went for a walk around the lanes here this morning while DD slept.

Got my Children's Centre post natal group this afternoon. It's a different them each week eg so far we've had a visit from a fire officer about fire safety (because new mums are easily distracted) and last week was a massage session but I bloomin missed it because it was half term and we went out with DS. Boo!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 04/06/2013 12:45

Stunning here too wing i'm strolling into the village to undertake the exciting task of going to the post office. Grin i havent braved any groups yet, im not ready to share him with the world yet.
but I do love having a carrycot, I can just clip it onto the buggy and don't have to wake ds.

somethingwittynot · 04/06/2013 13:50

Stunning weather here to! Had the bbc on the looks like im on the news tomorrow night!

tiredteddy · 04/06/2013 14:24

Oh let us know when something I'd like to tune in and see you on tv!

WingDefence · 04/06/2013 15:53

Oooooh a celeb in our midst! Yes tell us what time and when!

Frustrated it's far too early for you to be worrying about braving baby groups! This is one that's invitation only for all mums with new babies of a certain age in the area. Only 4 of us go though regularly. Today was about Bookstart.

Afterwards I weighed DD in the drop in 'baby den' and she's 11lb 13oz. Still holding her line steady just above the 50th centile even though I think she's massive!

tiredteddy · 04/06/2013 16:40

Wing that group sounds lovely and great weight gain for your dd!

I've bought a Tripp trapp highchair from eBay and dh is going to pick it up after work!

WingDefence · 05/06/2013 04:07

I hope you got a bargain Grin

Yes the group is nice because it's structured.

Well DH is off to London for work at 6 so he'll be up himself soon and won't be back until tomorrow evening :( He's self employed and has been off work (we planned it this way) since just before DD was born so just over two months. I've been pushing for him to find work (he's a management consultant in the public sector) and they do say be careful what you wish for - he's got a contract that means he may be away Tues-Wed every week till mid-July. I don't know how I'm going to cope - but it could well be the kick I need to sort my 'routine' out. Argh Confused :(

WingDefence · 05/06/2013 04:08

Typo - the contract means he may be away Tues - Thurs every week till mid July :(

tiredteddy · 05/06/2013 06:50

Wing it's hard when they (dh) go away isn't it. Mine has a trip to Paris in a fortnights time that will be mon-fri. He's always had to do the odd overnight thing but this will be the longest one yet. I'm not looking forward to it. I've never really done routines just let my dc patterns evolve themselves and taken it from there. Are you hoping to get a regular nap going or are you focusing in night time?

WingDefence · 05/06/2013 08:39

I'm not sure about how I'm going to get a routine with her. I was thinking more of me eg tues morning go for walk, tues PM post natal group. Wed, see friends. Thurs anther baby group! With DH I feel bad about going out to groups etc without him and we do a lot together (and with DS when he's not in preschool which is fantastic as he's starting school in Sept) but I like getting out with her just the two of us too - it makes things sort of simpler?

Anyway, DD woke at 4 then we all went back to sleep and the next thing I knew was DH waking me at 6 to kiss me goodbye and I went back to sleep. DD woke at 6:20 so I brought her in next to me for a quick feed then she slept there on the bed (on her side!) till 8:30! DS woke me at 7 but I didn't mind.

Right, feeding DD then I have to take DS to preschool and then I'm off to a friend's to get my highlights done (she's a hairdresser).

Hope you all have good days planned?

somethingwittynot · 05/06/2013 12:34

Just done an hours interview for bbc southeast news the 1.30&6.30 shows. Dps birthday so off for some fun and nandos later!

tiredteddy · 05/06/2013 12:56

Ah I like the sound of that routine wing. More to organise your week into a pattern. Well took the boys to school this am then popped into town to collect a package. I was just about to sit down for a coffee with a friend when the school rang to say ds2 had a nasty bump and cut to his head. Anyway he's ok, seen the nurse at the GP for steri-strips and we are home.

Something I'll try and tune in!

WingDefence · 05/06/2013 13:43

Something I have missed the 1:30 now but I shall see if I can record it on sky at 6:30 as I think all the regional variations are on there.

She's slept a lot today and I'm currently sitting in the car with her outside the house as I don't want her to wake up yet (I'm starving though) although she may be stirring now.

I should try to get into a nighttime routine actually. DS goes to bed 7-7:30 depending on how tired he is. DD can fed and nap on and off between then and 9-10. Sometimes she's fairly awake for the majority of the time, sometimes she falls asleep at 8-8:30 so I have to wake her again for a last feed at 10ish.

So perhaps get DD to bed then feed DD in our room, read her a story and put her down in the basket? Am I setting myself up for a fail of she's wide awake though? I can't remember how we did it with DS but it helped that he had his set bottle times every x hours and one of those would have been 7ish. Hmm

WingDefence · 06/06/2013 02:57

I recorded the news something at 6:30 but you weren't on it :(

I don't know why I bother doing a late feed when DD still wakes up early morning anyway... Hmm

somethingwittynot · 06/06/2013 10:48

My bit wasnt shown due to breaking news :(

Me and dp are having weekly weigh ins im -7lbs this weeks so -11bs since we started!

tiredteddy · 06/06/2013 11:04

That's a shame Something. Will they try and air it another day instead?

Hey Wing how are you today?
