Thought I would starta new thread as the old one hadbeen runnning for ages and was getting kinda long.

Eshay, Not sure about what age to expect the night terrors but i defo think Evie is getting them. She stayed at my brothers on Saturday and woke at 2.30am absolutely sobbing and there was no other explainable option. She done the same last night too. She is literally inconsolable

Hope everyone is looking forward to Crimbo. Going to be so nice this year with our DD/DS's knowing more about what is going on and being able to open their own pressies.

Littlerach - how much of a gap have you got between your 2 DDs again? I'm hoping my two are close and play well together (or fight), almost a shame as I keep hurrying Talia must remember to enjoy her being a baby.

Oh go on have a third you know you want to, I do but not for a few years Grin

littlerach · 23/04/2006 20:08

I have 3.5 years between them.
In hindsight, i do wish that it was smaller, more like 2.6 years, but at the time, I wanted to have DD1 out of nappies etc etc. I wasn't a particularly confident mum the forst time round, and doubted that I'd manage 2. Now I sometimes fell that they'd have had much more "play" time with a smaller gap.

MrsEvs · 24/04/2006 17:13

Good to hear from some of you again, it's been a while! I had number 2, another girl - Caroline Frances on Easter Saturday (15th April), and am just trying to adjust to life with 2, which at the moment is totally bonkers!

Phoebe did really well though, she is very taken with the baby and always wants to hold and kiss her. She is noticably more whiny and clingy but that's about it - not as bad as I feared, although it is still early days I suppose. She is so adorable herself at the moment with the vocab coming on in leaps and bounds every day that I wish I didn't have to divide my time so much, but I'm sure we'll fall into a routine sooner than I think. (Some reassurance from those with 2 please!!!)

We did manage to get her into her big girls bed a couple of months before the baby arrived and she loves it. I was worried she get out all the time but after a couple of times putting her back in the cot if she did, she stopped and is good as gold about it now.

Have also stsrted to think about potty training as she is telling us when she goes now, but like most of you I think I'll wait until the summer when she actually hits 2 and is used to life with a little sister first.

Many congratulations MrsEvs big welcome to baby Caroline!!

I'm 3 months along with 2 under 2 and it is very hard at times but also very good. Abbie adores her little sister and is always looking out for her. Will probably be a different story once Talia is after her toys.

MrsEvs · 28/04/2006 17:28

Thanks sweetkitty, good to know you survived your first 3 months - they say it gets easier after that, so I hope that's true for you. Just another 10 weeks to go for me!!!

littlerach · 10/05/2006 19:42

Congrats, Mrs Evs, you'll be fine.

15th April was DD1'a due date, and it was easter sunday that year too.

FoghornLeghorn · 20/06/2006 09:57

Hi All,

MrsEvs, how are coping with your 2 little ones ?

Just though I would post quickly as we are nearly at the 2nd birthdays. What are everyone plans this year ?
I can't believe they are nearly 2, it's just going by so quickly. Evie is a particular little monster at the minute, she is trying her luck with anything and everything, her answer to everything is either "no" or "My do it mummy". Her speech is brilliant, she has come on leaps and bounds in the last few months and most people can understand her completely and have a conversation.
We are getting married a week on Saturday, am soooo nervous its unbelievable, didn't think I would be at all. Am off to Barcelona on Thursday for a long weekend away with the girls, meant to be my hen but can't really call it a hen when you can't drink. We are expecting number 2 in November.

FoghornLeghorn · 20/06/2006 09:58

Oh It's SpringChicken btw :)

littlerach · 20/06/2006 10:17

So were you Esmummy?

Welcome back, BTW.

dinosaure · 20/06/2006 10:19

Hello! Blake will be two on 2 August. He's very sweet and loves running around with his two big brothers. Not saying a word yet (well, he says "App-el" sometimes).

How are all the others? Smile

littlerach · 20/06/2006 10:25

OOps, just seen your other thread.

Oh, they are so big now, aren't they?
Evie is v cute, but a beasty at times. She pulls DD1's hair if she wants her toys.
She is sppeaking lotss, which is a rekief after DD1's speech probs.
A boy pusged her over at toddlers last month, and all we hear is "boy push me", even now!

dinosaure · 20/06/2006 10:26

Evie sounds really sweet.

My DS1 didn't talk until he was two, so I am hoping that DS3 will start soon.

DS2 was the opposite, he was saying real words at about 8 months!

I think my children are weird, in the nicest possible way Smile.

Beetle73 · 20/06/2006 10:36

Isn't it racing by. My DD was 23 months yesterday. She's talking loads, and keeps coming out with words that I didn't know she knew. She's perfectly understandable, the trouble is that people just don't seem to listen. I think they assume that she's just babbling, but actually she's always saying something if you just take a minute to pay attention.
She went to a party at the weekend and stole a lolly off the biggest boy there. I was so proud! (But very glad not to have seen the incident, because then i'd have had to intervene!)

FoghornLeghorn · 20/06/2006 14:04

How sweet :)

We were at a BBQ a few weeks ago and a young childless couple were having a conversation and said the F word, well that was it, Evie was announcing "fuck" to the whole group, even my mum "Nanny fuck, fuck nanny" Angry

We are getting married, honeymooning, moving all in the coming weeks so not sure if Evie is going to get a party this year, although don't know what to do as an alternative, its a bit short notice.

littlerach · 21/06/2006 17:05

Foghorn, didn't you move just last year?
Must be a glutton for punishmant!!

sweetkitty · 21/06/2006 21:10

hiya foghorn glad to see you back and congratulations btw I thought you were going to wait until your honeymoon to ttc no 2!

Abbie was 23 months yesterday and boy has it flown especially now she has a 5 month old sister. She is such a little madam, speech coming on in leaps and bounds. Full tantrums, gets sent to the naughty corner the works. She's a great big sis though very protective of her sister, lovely to see them together.

Haven't even thought about potty training yet, I'm waiting until she tells me she's ready.

Eshay · 29/06/2006 12:51

Wow, so much activity here when I tought the thread was all but dead. I blame the 'watch' setting. i swear it wasn't displaying propely.

Anyway, it's almost July so it's time for some birthdays. Thomas will be 2 on 8 July so one of the first ones in this group. He is moving up a group at nursery, rides on a buggyboard, tries to eat with knife and fork, talks an awful lot and is crazy about motorcycles. He throws tantrums but nothing too dramatic. He's more the whiney sort Some days he just "cries" about absolutely everything. I think it's just an attention thing. He has suddenly started screaming the place down when I take him to nursery in the morning - while in actual fact he loves it over there. Maybe it's a delayed reaction to having to share Mummy and Daddy with his baby brother Alex (born Jan '06). He's a great big brother though, always bringing Alex toys and telling me what game Alex should play next.

Congratulations on the other new babie and pregnancies. I am very glad to have the pregnancy and first few weeks over and done with. It was very difficult at first but after about 3 months or so Thomas had adjusted and we had found a routine so it's all good now

FoghornLeghorn · 15/08/2006 13:48

How did all of the birthdays go then ?

Anyone get a complete monster on their hands like me ? Evie is a terror at the minute, her favourite things in the last week have included enptying a whole box of soapflakes over kitchen floor, emptying brown suace, vinegar and pepper all over lounge floor, several bottles of shampoo and conditioner all in the bath tub/all over the floor.
I think she is nearly ready to be out of nappies, I have been holding off until my maternity leave starts but I don't think I can anymore - Evie had got to the stage where a ssoon as she had done a wee she would take her nappy off and say she didn't like it but this morning I caught her butt naked in the front room, with her bone dry nappy discarded by the TV and nice little puddle off wee and Evie proudly telling me "I needed a wee wee mummy".
Don't think I can put it off any longer.

CheesyFeet · 15/08/2006 13:57

Hello FoghornLeghorn, I didn't know there was a July 2004 thread, my dd was born on 2nd July 04 .

She's probably ready for potty training too, but I am trying to delay it until after we go on holiday next month. I'm dreading it! They say that the longer you leave it, the easier it is, here's hoping!

When is your new one due?

FoghornLeghorn · 15/08/2006 16:05

Hi CheesyFeet, are you relatively new to MN then ? Saying that, this thread isn't particularly active nowadays.

DD was born 16th July 2004, this one is due 21st November. Got a feeling i am going to have my hands full come November

FoghornLeghorn · 05/09/2006 16:32

MrsEvs · 07/06/2007 19:46

Hello All
Goodness, it's been a long time since I checked in on Mumsnet, thought I'd see if you are all still around as the terrible two's pass us by (we hope) and the kiddos approach the ripe old age of 3

All well with us. We are still in the US despite the fact we were supposed to have been coming home every Sept since we've been here! The plan to return is now Sept '08 which I think we'll stick to as it Phoebe will then be starting school (OMG). They go a year later in the US, so that's reason enough to come home

Phoebe has been going to a little preschool 2 mornings a week this year and has loved it (as have I, it gives me some one on one time with Caroline who is now nearly 14 months and charging around the place). She also started a little footie training practice in a local park with 10 other little 2/3 year olds in the neighbourhood, it's very cute and they have ex professional english coaches who to my husband's great delight call it football and not soccer as the rest do

Would love to hear how you are all doing and what if any plans you have for presents/parties for the bairns. I haven't even begun to think about it yet!
