Ooh tea, count me in for some clothes, ds is nearly too big for all the handmedowns and somehow my SILs don't seem to have cottoned on (yet) that it's time to start shipping the bigger sizes to me

Plus I have just found out that another of my friends is pregnant - four of us lived together at uni and by next April three of us will have had kids in the last year. So everything I own for ds has onwards destinations already planned ...

baubleloo · 19/12/2005 19:43

Evening all,

Jonah-Hope your first day back today wasn't too stressfull for you.

Snowfall-I've also got pcos, but seriously thinking about a second already.I just know that if we do have another it won't be as good as Oscar and I'll end up going mad-lol!

Trib-Hope your injuries weren't too bad...especially as we all had a good laugh at your expense.
I also found out today that an old school friend of mine is pg.I saw her last week and had a sneaky feeling, but she was keeping quiet.

2many-Glad both your evening's went well.Sounds like a good comprimise!

Tea-I've also sold quite a bit on Ebay, but your'e right-it can be really hard justing getting your fees back.
btw...your ds is soooooo funny.

I bought Oscar one of those swivel bath seats which came today,so thought I'd try it out tonight-BIG mistake!
He now has 2 big bruises on his legs.
He loves to kick his legs up and did this in the new seat, but as it's hard plastic he hurt himself. He screamed the place own and both his little legs went bright red.The redness has now gone and he's left with a couple of bruises.
This is now the 5th bath seat we've had.Hopefully he'll be sittin up soon and won't need one!
He's also been a bit grumpy the last couple of evenings and has cried when I've put him to bed.I'm sure he's just playing up as it only happens at bed time.
Also think he's teething at the mo as he has been off his food today. He hardly ate any breakfast or lunch but did have a huge tea,so that probably made up for it.
Those of you bottle feeding, are you still giving the same formula or have you changed it to the follow on milk yet? Just wondered really as Ds is now(from today!)6 months old and still on the SMA gold.
Also got some Napisan today which I'm hoping will get the veg stains out of the bibs-have used it yet but I'll let you knwo how I get on with it.

baubleloo · 19/12/2005 19:45

Sorry about the typo's-should really check it before posting.

teabelly · 19/12/2005 20:21

Hi again,

Trib - just let me know how much you want - I have at least 2 big plastic tubs full of just 6-12 mths clothes and then there's older stuff too, upto 2/3 that you can have if you want...has all sorts, shirts, t-shirts, trousers, jumpers, coats, all good condition as I was going to ebay and didn't want to jeopardise my feedback rating! . Not sure how much postage would be but 10kg = £10, 20kg = £11.65, and I'd say the whole lot would be somewhere inbetween??? Anyway whatever you'd like is yours

Bubb - oh poor Oscar, we've just moved dd to her bath seat and she loves it so long as she's not over tired, then all hell breaks loose as she throws herself backwards in it and gets those lovely red marks on her back . He he he ds is a one, yup...showed dh the video when he arrived home and literally all you can see is all the other kids singing away and ds checking out the physiology of his nasal cavity, have a feeling we may wipe this tape!

teabelly · 19/12/2005 21:29

Oh Bubb, forgot to say...milk, dd is still on the first milk, but as soon as we've almost finished the two tubs I have (next week then!) I'm going to try her on the follow on milk. You don't have to change them at all. The only advantages of follow on milk is that it has a few extra vitamins added as babes 'stolen' stores from you start to diminish after 6 mths, and you get points at boots for follow on milk, crap reason really but still... But seriously, so long as babe is getting a balanced diet including the major food groups there's no reason to change their milk if they're happy and you don't want to. HTH

Thanks for that Tea.
Ooooh didn't know that about Boots but I'll bear it in mind as we tend to get the SMA there as it's the cheapest place.I'm really lazy and buy the "ready to drink" cartons,so it does work out quite expensive.
Talking of Boots, someone on here mentioned they were doing a great deal on points and nappies a while back,so I spent over £100 on Huggies and got nearly £50 in points.I was so embarassed when they delivered them though-I'd ordered 12 large packets and they came in HUGE boxes-lol!
It's like nappy central here-I've still got loads and even got my mum to swap a couple of the packets in one of the stores for a bigger size.
Dh thought I'd lost the plot.

troublesawmummykissingsanta · 19/12/2005 21:59

Yeah! Someone noticed i was missing. Thanks 2many. I've kind of been lurking, but being back at work, i've totally lost this thread for the past two weeks and its gonna be hard for me to get back into it. I have no idea whats happening on here at all so i'll just start again from now i think.

Ds is a right grumpy pants at the mo. I thought he had a cold coming as he was sneezing a lot and snotty nosed, but thats gone and he's still moody. I'm just putting it down to being a bit off and hoping it will improve.

Weaning seems to be going backwards. He's been having breakfast for about 2 weeks, seemed to quite like it to start with but now just spits everything back out at me. I've not dared to try any lunch or dinner as i just don't think he's in the right frame of mind. When i was pg i was looking forward to all this, but now i just wish someone could do it for me. It feels personal when he rejects food. I know that sounds stupid.

Hope everyone is ok and looking forward to our first Christmas with the lo's

Oh my goodness, I've had such a terrible couple of days. I tripped over the cat lying on the stairs yesterday - unfortunately had DS2 in my arms and dropped him down the stairs We had to call an ambulance, he had blood coming out of his nose and everything. It was horrible, horrible, horrible. He's had a CT scan on his head and was kept in overnight for observation and everything seems to be fine - he has a small bruise on his forehead but that's it.

Bubbs, when this happened to you I thought I was very fortunate not to have done the same thing as one of our cats is obsessed with lying on stairs. Will definitely be checking in future. Or getting rid of the cats.

Sorry for me, me, me post here. Will go and put DS2 to bed for a nap (we got home this morning), try and sort my house out and catch up properly later.

tribpot · 20/12/2005 12:10

Oh my god MrsCD! How utterly awful for you and thank goodness lovely little ds2 is okay. I sent you an email asking if you wanted to meet up today - I can see this was not a great priority for you.

All the best to the Wednesday family xxxxx

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 20/12/2005 12:11

Mrs CD - you poor love - what a horrible, horrible shock. So glad that you're both ok.
I did the same with dd when she was about 2 and a half. I slipped with her in my arms and we both ended up on the tiled floor at the bottom of the stairs. It's given me a real phobia about the stairs, I'm so careful now and have unfortunately given dd a bit too much of a 'healthy respect' for them.

baubleloo · 20/12/2005 14:35

OMG MrsCD,are you alright?
Thank goodness your Ds is going to be ok and has no broken bones-it's truly a horrible thing to happen, but unfortunately very very common-so I've been told.
I'm still really nervous coming down the stairs and stupidly always say to ds"hold onto mummmy,we're going down the stairs now"-like he really knows how to!
Bloody cats-mine are still getting under my feet, but I do love them dearly and know they don't mean any harm.
Lets hope his bruise soon goes and you still have a wonderful christmas.xxx

2manyglassesofmulledwine · 20/12/2005 17:35

OMG OMG OMG!
Mrs CD - how awful for you. Are you ok, were you hurt at all? Hope ds2 not too sore now. Big (((((hugs))))) to you all xxx

katzglitterytree · 20/12/2005 18:04

Mrs CD - thats awful, hope hes okay soon.

MrsCD and EYM - have you recieved your swop parcels?

SKYLERtnightholynight · 20/12/2005 18:47

Hello
Oh Mrs CD, that is awful. Poor you. Sounds like ds2 is just fine though. What a dreadful shock for you.
Still very little sleep here and weaning is a PITA. Lots of mess and it takes so long........
DD's are gorgeous though so keep me smiling.
Assessors came to organinse stuff for packing today so we have been maxed out. Will be moving into the spare room when all the stuff has gone in Jan in the hope dd2 will sleep better on her own.
Right sorry that is all my energy used up.
There are lots of us missing, particularly some oldies (Charley, Mrs F ? and a newbie Killie mum.....and others I am sure.....Hope you are all OK and lurking .
I am afraid I think I will be just lurking for a while. Too tired lol.
Giddy - Have a WONDERFUL time with your dh at home.

Poor you Mrs CD you must have got an awful fright. I am always frightened that I will do the same with my dd as I leave laundry etc on the bottom of the stairs. Will certainly not be doing that now.

teabelly · 20/12/2005 20:58

Oh Mrs CD how awful, I have had nightmares about this since I first had ds and regularly 'see' myself falling down the stairs with one or other of the lo's. Thank goodness ds only has a bruise to show for his adventure. Hope you've not been to badly injured in the process, take care, x

MrsChristmasDay · 20/12/2005 21:17

Yes keep those stairs clear is definitely this week's lesson on the Junie thread. My new policy is to shout at (or kick ) the cats if I see them lurking on the stairs.

DS2 is asleep now and I've got a large glass of red and some maple roasted nuts I bought for Christmas to hand so things are looking up a bit. Bless him he was so pleased to be home - I put him in his cot for a nap at lunchtime and he snuggled happily into the sheets and slept for 3 1/2 hours! (I must have checked him about 20 times).

Thanks for all your lovely and supportive messages, it really does mean a lot.

Hope work has gone ok Jonah, and that you are coping with the separation from DS.

Giddy, DS1 reacted badly to certain types of wipes too (and the baby lotion they use at nursery), so we have to use sensitive ones.

Skyler, blimey you've got a lot on your plate at the moment, I'm not surprised you are feeling tired. I'm struggling to cope with just Christmas on top of the normal day to day workload, never mind having to pack too. Weaning is really a chore this time, I'm finding. If I'm honest, if it's not convenient for me, DS2 doesn't get fed his solids on a daily basis

Katz, good news you've got an answer on the rash but I hope it clears up quicker than they think.

Giddy, just read back and I saw that you'd had a scare with DD2 as well. Blimey, it's frightening being a parent sometimes. They seem to recover so quickly whilst we are the ones left with all the horrible memories.

Troublesmummy, yes I know what you mean when you take it personally - I feel the same too and it gets worse when they get older and can verbalise their disgust. DS1 still likes chomping on cat biscuits but will turn his nose up at some of my cooking.

Tea, bless your DS picking his nose - definitely one to keep not to wipe (talking about the tape not the bogies obviously).

There are lots of people who haven't posted for a while, I was thinking the same Skyler. Lippy for example, was last spotted on here singing an Artic Monkeys song but that was a while ago. It is busy but even if people pop in and post a quick update it's lovely to hear from everyone.

Bubbs, blimey we'd need to build an extension to house that many nappies!

Cratchit, thank you . Have you also noticed that if you take the batteries out of the remote control, the babies don't like it any more?

2many, did you do the ironing or the present wrapping?

Trib, will reply to your email! You'll be sick of hearing from me by the end of today

KVG, if you are lurking please could you give me some recommendations for GU puddings? I've decided to get one for Christmas Day - I am doing puddings for the meal, will be making a passionfruit cheesecake for my pregnant sister who has been craving it, but I want a chocolately one to take as well but can't be bothered making it. Also where do I get them from? Have never seen them in Morrisons. Ta very much.

Right, off to drink some wine and collapse into my own bed (sleeping in a fold-out bed in a ward full of crying babies doesn't lead to a good night's kip).

Sleep well Junie babies (and mummies of course).

MrsChristmasDay · 20/12/2005 21:25

His bruise has virtually gone! Just wish the image of it happening would fade as quickly.

katzglitterytree · 20/12/2005 21:32

hugs to you mrscd, did you get your parcel?

Katz, not yet but I've had a card through the door saying I need to collect a parcel from the post office so I will have it tomorrow.

Good to hear it Giddy

Now the wine and nuts have gone I really must go to bed.x

Uki · 21/12/2005 03:45

Dear All
It's been a while i know !!!I had to fast forward about 7 threads to find you all. Anyway think often of you all. Hope you are all settling into motherhood well like I am. I am enjoying the giggles mostly, but Cooper still hates going to bed. He had a little operation on belly button, that then got infected so just came back from surgeon for 3rd time, but looking better now. I have also been busy trowling the internet with other things on my mind mainly trying to find a new house. We have decided we need a yard and maybee a pool and quiet street- bye bye inner city life, but ready for change.

Wanted to wish you all a very merry christmas it is sooo exciting having a little one to share it with, my ds is spoilt rotten already with toys!!!!
So i hope you all have a really special one and stay snugy and warm while i try staying cool 40 degrees expected here christmas eve

Oh did catch a bit about bumbo conversation, ds absolutely loves his (it's on lend) but he's nearly too big for it. He loves sitting and watching mum cook dinner with he's birds eye view. chopping is soo interesting...

Hope to talk more in new year, sorry to hear about fall Mrs CD- What a nightmare for you all
