Hi everyone.

calebsmum (I'm guessing shaala?) - good to hear from you. Caleb sounds very active - getting up the stairs already! I know what you mean - the time is just flying by and I was thinking the same thing only the other day, that before we know it they will be year old.

Glad to hear that Iris finally seems to have cracked the sleeping Pidge. We had a really good night last night - she took a while to settle initially (half an hour so not as bad as some nights), but once she was asleep (about 7pm) we didn't hear a peep until 5am when I fed her and she then went back until 7.40am at which point we had to wake her to get her ready to take dd1 to school. So - I would have had a great sleep except that I woke at 3am to see that dh was getting out of bed - he couldn't sleep so went downstairs and spent the rest of the night working! Poor thing is so snowed under, he has a night like this about once a month when he just can't sleep so has to get up. Wish he hadn't picked one of Grace's better nights though!

Any signs of Harrison's tooth yet Busy? Hope you had a better night last night. Grace still has a gummy smile - no idea when we're going to see any teeth. DD1 was 9mths though before she got her first one so maybe Grace will follow suit.

Leo - am at your snow! We hardly ever get any in Cardiff and I love it (am just like a big kid!). You will have to post a picture of Niklas in his wedding outfit - it sounds so cute!

Jambot - glad to hear that Lauren's cold is better - yuck at the licking though!

We had my parents here for lunch on Sunday - we tend to see them about once a fortnight as they don't live too far away. As soon as Grace saw mum she burst into tears and got upset every time she went near her! She's never been overly keen on her, but hadn't actually cried before! Poor mum - I felt really sorry for her because she's lovely and I can't quite work out what it is that Grace doesn't like about her. It could be because mum is quite extrovert and Grace could find her a bit overwhelming. My dad on the other hand is fairly quiet and Grace goes to him quite happily.

Well - I am supposed to be going out for a meal with some ex-colleagues tonight (well they're friends really but we did all work together!), but at the moment I really don't feel like going! Last couple of nights I have been exhausted by 10pm and Grace's nights are so unpredictable at the moment that there is no guarantee she will settle tonight. Not sure what to do, but have to make a decision as my parents are coming over to babysit (dh is also out tonight at a work thing). I feel decidedly old sometimes - sitting at home in front of the fire is infinitely more appealing than going out at the moment!

Am going to start a new thread as this one is gettting very long...here we go...

I had Sylvia's 8 month check yesterday. She's small (69 cm) and light (7.43 kg or 16 lbs). She wouldn't bang two cubes together and wouldn't pick up some small paper balls, although I know she can do that. In fact, she didn't "perform" in any way. Good thing I'm not a first time mum, I'd have been so worried. As it is, I know she's developing fine. I just wish she'd eat more...

Ah - Christina - you obviously didn't get to the end of my last, very long post! We have started a new thread - link is at the bottom of my last post! Sylvia's check sounds fairly typical I think - ime most babies won't "perform" on demand - who can blame them really!
