Welcome to the latest thread for mums of babies born in March ( and a few in Feb and one in April!).

Come on in. Find out who'll be pg next and who's weaning onto what.

Strangely, my patience has been lacking recently too. I just feel a bit grumpier than usual. This morning I nearly shouted at Isobel when she wouldn't stay still to let me put her trousers on Blush. I think it's at least partly PMS in my case, but could be the weather too. I suspect tiredness plays a big part as well (more so for those of you with more than one DC, or sleep troubles).

Isobel has had two long naps today (2h+), so is wide awake now and not showing any signs of sleeping any time soon.

BMI well done on expressing for so long. I was listening honest, but could you remind me why things went wrong for you BF?

IWCAS I think (having just counted in my head) that we do maybe 6 feeds between 7am and 6pm and then another 2 or 3 at night. I dont have any set feeding tumes so I dont know. Some of my mum buddies are dropping feeds now LOs are on solids and Im Confused that Im increasing in volume!

I know what you mean about suits btw.. mmm.. of course there has to be something nice there already, not any old sweaty businessman..

Sariska · 29/09/2010 22:22

Hello - late (as usual).

Envy at all this talk of underwired bras. When I tried to go back into them when DS was about 10 mo they hurt like buggery. Had to give up and get non-underwired ones. In a very small cup size. Very small. Sad Oh, how I like pregnancy boobs. (But prob not enough to get pg again. Probably.)

Mine is another BLW who is also still having lots of milk at night. Thing is, though, I think she is actually eating quite a lot. Her nappies went from those innocent yellow poos to, er, really quite grotesquely toddler-like pretty much overnight.

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 29/09/2010 22:40

ok,so i go to my norwegian class and come back to find that i have missed so much,

Arcadie sad news about the lady with cancer

Pixie well done,i don't have boobs as well, was a skiny size 6 before DD,lost all the weight at three months, thanks to genes that you can eat anything and everyone and still look like you haven't had food for months:o,now am a proud owner of size 8,with the so longed for curves,,yes yes yes,
sariska pregnant boobs are lovely,

siamese I found BFing really painful; tried nipple shields, different holds, but to no avail. The pain just seemed to get worse with each feed, and it got to the point where I was dreading her getting hungry :( MWs were v. helpful and I probably should have made more effort to get to a BFing clinic but it just seemed too difficult with a newborn. Switched to EBFing at about 3 weeks, with occasional BFing for comfort (hers and mine, probably). Not exclusively EBFing though, she got forumla some of the time too. It all seems like a long time ago now, but I felt so guilty and disappointed in myself at the time. She seems happy and healthy now so I guess it hasn't done any harm.

Sorry, that was long and rambling.

Pixie I'd love a pregnancy on the thread, would be very exciting, but it won't be me unless- immaculate conception is back in fashion--. Not for a few more years anyway.

Ok, just popping in quickly cos it's late and I'm tired and probably don't have that much to say really. I've been lurking and really wish I had more time to post these days - was sorry to miss yet another live chat...maybe I'll catch the next one.

First things first - pixie I've been thinking about you loads and sending up a prayer or two. I'm glad you seem to be in better spirits and really hope things get better for you soon.

Also arcadie sorry to hear about your mum friend.

iwcas cold shower?? Grin Wink

pd glad crieff hydro was good - keep meaning to try it out myself as I've heard good things about it from lots of folk

short fuse me too, poor DD1 gets snapped at a bit more these days

underwire I wish...and I would consider buyring the underwire nursing bra but I keep thinking if I buy another one I'll probably end up stopping bf-ing a week later and waste the money!

On that note - major OUCH tonight when DD2 BIT me - definitely the downside of bfing a 6 month old with a mouthful of gnashers!! I have the bitemark on my nipple to prove it Hmm

Oh, I get to say 'Good morning' first Smile - I don't think that ever happened before Grin.

Weaning/sleep/feeding: Oh, where to start?? Joe is still not very interested in anything other than milk although DH gave him custard last night Blush and that went down a treat Hmm... He goes to sleep around 7.30, wakes every half hour until about 10.30pm, then feeds at midnight, 2ish and 5ish, sleeps til after 8am.... I am sooo baffled by this child Confused. He still feeds every 2-3 hours during the day with 2-3 30minute sleeps somewhere along the way.

TTSP, TTSP, TTSP, TTSP...

DH is still off today and tomorrow - may visit Edinburgh Zoo or summat.

After 3 days of torrential rainfall in Crieff, it is all sunny and cold but gorgeous here this morning [bsicuit]. Typical!

Everybody have a good one!

SmacsGonePotty · 30/09/2010 11:01

just wondering whether Welsh or Norwegian is harder to learn for an English speaker Wink I find Welsh very hard Sad but I've not given up yet.
I was at Jambori on Tuesday (Welshy singy/dancey stuff) and the teacher announced a new Welsh conversation class on a Monday with childcare and pampering and free childcare starting on 1st Nov. Mummy friend from my Welsh class looked at me and said 'free childcare might just swing it' Grin I have to say that I could not be persuaded to give up my evenings to learn Welsh so hat's off to you tooblessed and I won't be doing an A level Grin

SmacsGonePotty · 30/09/2010 11:11

oh and arcadie I hadn't realised or maybe just forgot you were a cloth nappy user. Last night was better as she was back in an overstuffed wonderoo and I did a 9pm change as I was feeding her then anyway.
If it hadn't been for the bin lorry waking me up at 6 I would have had a pretty good night as DD2 only woke for one night feed at 3.30
melk how are you today? Please don't hurt yourself, much better to destroy the cake tin instead. I know you go to lots of groups and activities with elk and elklette but does Elk ever go to stuff on her own? DD1 started creche when she turned 2. It was 3 sessions but it's been cut to 2 sessions but it is my saviour. Just 2 1/2 hours to get on with things with one child in tow instead of two makes such a difference to my sanity.
I am finally feeling much more like my old self physically and mentally so much sympathy to those of you who feel like you have taken a step backwards from the early days.
Also a call out to the fellow C-sectioners how are your scars? I still get the occasional funny pain which I don't remember from last time) and it still seems very red/purple, not much signs of fading yet Sad
oh and hairloss has calmed down a lot however I now have a really minging short haired fringe where the new hair has grown back in. I hate this look

evitas · 30/09/2010 11:31

Good morning everyone.
I'm sorry I couldn't stay over yesterday.

DS was very unsettled yesterday. As usual I put him down at 7.30pm but at 9'oclock he was still awake... I gave him some milk and he finally went to sleep. 45 minutes later he woke up crying and crying. While he was crying DH and I had this huge discussion whether we should pick him up or let him cry. I wanted to comfort him but DH thought he was just being a cheeky monkey. Oh God... I was almost in tears... finally I went to the bedroom and picked DS up. I had to cuddle him for about 20 minutes, and every time I tried to put him down he would scream (maybe DH was right...)Finally he was asleep on me at 11pm. DH was very angry at me... but honestly I thought DS wasn't ok (wind, teething,...), and that I HAD to comfort him.
I went to bed and had a chat with DH, we were both very angry at each other. The conversation went well... we still not 100% ok.I hope things will get better today.

... sorry for the long story...

How are you Pixie?

Pacific Enjoy Edinburgh's zoo. I love it, it's such a nice place!

BMI after 5 months DS stopped to be exclusively BF. I also did the EBM + bottle.

Sariska I also loved my pg boobs! I went from cup A to cup C!!Bot it's back to cup A again :(

Ok, back to work!
x

siamesecatwoman · 30/09/2010 14:54

Just dropping by to be pleased with myself that during today's long nap I picked over 600 apples and cut the lawn, hung out the washing and moved the body of a wood pigeon from the lawn. And now I'm sitting down sweating and she still isn't awake! Hurruh!
( although I'm going to have wash and sort all those apples at some point..)

And some theiving git has been stealing my pears .... There are tons missing! ( dons cap and lights pipe to start investigation....)

Evitas I agree with you and pixie, pick him up if he cries if you want. They can't understand language so I don't think they can understand feelings?

siamesecatwoman · 30/09/2010 14:57

Pacific while you are at Edinburgh zoo, wave at the building opposite as that is the Forestry Commision where DH is working :)

hecklephone · 30/09/2010 15:14

Siamese 'twas me!! Mwah ha ha! I LOVE pears and now, apparently, so does Dd2! Lol at your Sherlock-style investigation Smile

SmacsGonePotty · 30/09/2010 15:22

evitas that is the same as DH and me Sad He thinks I am soft and I think he is hard hearted. I'm going to print this out for him. I found it before but then DD1 started sleeping much better but I googled and found it again as I need 'evidence' disclaimer
don't read it if you DO believe in controlled crying but have it up your sleeve it like me you can't let them cry but DH disagrees.
