Anyone else [shock] that people were unable to vote?

I'm a bit surprised that more of a fuss hasn't been kicked up about the number of people who were turned away from the polling stations at 10pm? Can't be a democratic election, surely, if people were unable to vote? Am v surprised that nobody has called for another election. I'd be livid if it was me! Emily Pankhurst and all that!

I think there is so much going on at the mo., with the full results not even being in. After all the statements etc. I can see the shit hitting the fan with regardsto that. If it definatly goes to hung, I can definatly see more being made of it. If DC scrapes through somehow (don't know the technicalities) they may let sleeping dogs lie... (just my opin ion)

There are loads of threads on this....

I think lot is hearsay at the moment.

Sorry, just seen the other threads. Glad lots of people are concerned about it - doesn't seem to have had much coverage on tv, but good point Secretlemonade.

Yes, I was too.

But there isn't really much they can do about it, and TBH it doesn't seem to have affected any really closely fought seats (as far as I know?) so may not have made too much difference to the result. (I know that doesn't make it right, but ...)

Also, nobody wants to add to the already huge uncertainty at the moment by suggesting there could be challenges to the results.

I imagine they will wait till the dust has settled until they really investigate.

I think it'll be a big story the minute it's clear if Cameron will deal with the LDs or not.

I heard something a year or so ago about how the Electoral Commission had its funding cut and polling stations were expected to be more efficient, so less of the voters being outnumbered by clerks. Given turnout in these places wasn't higher than usual, it must have been fewer staff on duty (or more faffing voters, I guess)
