Labour and Lib Dems get together, so Labour are still in charge.
GB is unpopular so is forced to stand down as PM. He accepts that he is not leadership material but says that his masterful creation of a recession handling of the economy has been his strongest point. His bargaining position is that he goes ... if he gets the Chancellorship back!
Argh.

"His bargaining position is that he goes ... if he gets the Chancellorship back!"

Is that true? I don't want him anywhere near the economy.

oh he didn't create the recession...that has been coming for a long time.

"oh he didn't create the recession...that has been coming for a long time."

No, of course, you're right. It's mere coincidence that a period of Labour control usually ends up in recession / national bankruptcy.

Please don't give me that hmm face. I really dislike it.

This recession is global. It's hardly something you can pin on Gordon...or the labour government.

azazello · 07/05/2010 10:04

We could perhaps have been better prepared for a global recession which quite a lot of people predicted instead of already running a deficit and crowing about an end to boom and bust.

SamanthaFox · 07/05/2010 10:07

It's possible there could have been better preparation...what I am saying is that it wasn't his fault it happened.
