because nobody would believe that a resource shortage was serious enough to mean that we had to curtail our lifestyles and had to reduce our family sizes. The crisis has to be on the scale of "we have only 50 days left to save the world" as Gordon Brown told us, in order for people to accept that change needs to happen.

If the evidence is convincing enough for the conspirators I can't see why they wouldn't go with the evidence. "We are running out of X" is surely an easier sell that "The invisible gas that plants eat is going to make everywhere get hotter". There is resistance to Climate Change for exactly the same lack of imminent danger as for resource shortages.

And resource wars are already breaking out - much easier to make the case with those.

I can't see WHAT the conspirators get out of the conspiracy.

ooojomaflip, the great and the good are lying to us. They don't believe it. Al Gore's energy use for his home was revealed to the public. They won't stop flying, they are too important for that. Yes there is water shortage and there may be wars over that, but even that could be solved with technology such as desalination plants if they really wanted to. It is not really resource shortages that are at the heart of the policy. The great and the good study all of the tricks of the trade. They study Machiavelli, Napoleon, Hitler and Stalin. The global warming hoax is classic Hitler-style big lie stuff. The bigger the lie and the more often repeated, the more the public will believe it. This is because the public tell small lies, but they would never dream of telling outright whoppers and they can't imagine that their leaders could ever do such a thing. You can tell how big the lie is by how preposterous it gets i.e. "we have only 50 days left to save the world", "we have reached the tipping point", "the planet is doomed".

All opinion polls show that the public does not believe in man-made global warming, but all of the great and the good say they believe it and try to convince us by using the media. Just under half of the public has been convinced, and they get all of the air-time on the media, you rarely see anybody arguing the opposite on the world's media. They are denied any media time.

But do you have an answer to it? Otherwise you seem to have a massive, expensive and all powerful conspiracy hanging around doing bugger all. Which seems a bit of a waste.

it's not doing bugger all. It is slowly achieving its objectives. I think I know the answer to it, just as I think I am right about communism. But I may be wrong.
