Ed Balls is definitely top of the Labour list. For obvious reasons.

Top of the Tory list is Chris Grayling. He is a walking talking idiot.

For the Lib Dems, it has to be Chris Huhne. What a complete loudmouth rent-a-gob he is.

By the way, the ability to have "Portillo moments" is the best argument I can think of for maintaining a constituency link. And if we are to maintain a constituency link, then FPTP is better than AV.

You can get rid of bad individual MPs easily. Very hard with STV - and near impossible with a party list system.

I think we should have PR for the lords, with a party list system, with rolling elections. But I think we should keep FPTP in the Commons.

I've always wondered about Ed Balls political and moral compass. Given his dad successfully campaigned for the abolition of grammar schools and then sent him to a private school. What does that teach a child? That 'do as I say, not as I do' is acceptable in a leader?

What about driving his car while talking on a mobile phone with his kids in the back?

And he's in charge of the safety of the nation's children ffs .

You could get a double Portillo with EB and Mrs EB(Yvette Cooper). They are in neighbouring constituences.......

I do find Ed majorly irritating.

It is funny how Portillo became immediately more likeable the MINUTE he was kicked out.

Ed Balls and Peter Hain

Why is Harriet Harperson so villified in the press. She has done a lot for equality and is actually a nice person, I am reliably told. Seems to me that the press doesn't like her stridency on equality issues?

My money is on Balls.

Don't think Grayling will lose this seat, he has a lot of support and is a strong local MP (whilst also being a bit of a nobber, granted).

Paul Burstow is also nearby and I think he will be the Lib Dem one, Tories hitting the area really hard and as he is chief Whip that'd be fairly embarrassing if/when he loses.

TDiddy: insists on all women short lists but then has her husband parachuted in as candidate in a safe labour seat? People should be on short lists on merit - not gender.

What about John Bercow? Surely he'll go?

George Galloway? Always good for entertainment either way.

Maybe Phil Woolas and Andrew Dismore.

He is an indy candidate so not sure, it would mean Farage winning so I hope not!

George Galloway is about as far from my politics as I can imagine. I can't stand his personality or workrate either.

But he is such a fantastic speaker - perhaps the only real firebrand remaining - that I hope he wins. Parliament would be poorer without him there.

Tashtodd - But Harriet Harperson's husband; Jack D, is very influential in the unions (used to head one of them) so I doubt that he needs her help to land himself a safe seat?!
