Third Leader's Debate - BBC 29th April

In anticipation of tomorrow's TV debate, MN will be launching a fifth poll of Mumsnetter voting intentions as soon as the debate finishes. Can Cameron regain the ground he's lost? Will Clegg continue to build on his success following the first and second debates? We'll have to wait and see - but in the meantime, we've put together a handy table showing how your voting intentions and attitudes towards the party leaders have changed over the past four polls

zapostrophe I reckon he's got nits on his mind. That's why he mentioned boys arguing in the bath last week too .

MsDav · 29/04/2010 21:39

vesela, don't forget it was a global recession not just Gordon's fuck up

Cartoose · 29/04/2010 21:39

See now I think the channel 4 poll sounds unrealistic

No life on the dole. Nice one GB.

AmeliaCordelia · 29/04/2010 21:39

woosam · 29/04/2010 21:39

Please will one of them answer this question by saying that not everyone on benefits is scamming the system.

GB is barely looking at his notes, like he did in the first couple of debates. His answers are far more substantial than the others. DC is doing better than I expected, his policies are still terrible, but presentationally he looks reasonably comfortable on this topic.

NC's problem is that he has always delegated this stuff to Vince to deal with and now he's being thrown in at the deep end he is struggling.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 29/04/2010 21:39

DC sounds posher and posher the more he gets exercised

SethStarkaddersMum · 29/04/2010 21:39

trouble is Brown keeps saying good things and then you think 'but you were the ones who fucked it up/have been in power for 13 years and still haven't sorted it out'

The thing with these debates is that they are not going to change the mind of anyone who has already decided how to vote. If you've decided already to vote Labour then you will only see GB doing well and DC and NC doing badly, and vice versa.

MmeLindt · 29/04/2010 21:40

LOL at David having to write it down

No life on the dole.

Was that too hard to remember?

Wolfcub · 29/04/2010 21:40

if you close your eyes and just listen Cameron and Clegg sound exactly the same

mumutd · 29/04/2010 21:40

Effing 'right thing' again DC - arghhh!!!!!

animula · 29/04/2010 21:40

Oh dear. I didn't like immigration ... and I'm not liking the dole scum chat, either.

Am I the only hippy in Britain?

Gordon "no life on the dole" you've really gone crazy now

Ariesgirl · 29/04/2010 21:40

With regard to the housing question, I don't think they answered that lady's question at all. People don't want to part rent/part own, or have houses through social housing schemes, though there is definitely room for those things. What she wants to know, as do I, is why houses are so damn astronomically expensive? Why do we base an economy on house prices? The lady in question was on a good income and couldn't afford a deposit. House prices should be three or four times your salary. Yet everyone talks about the housing market being buoyant like it's a good thing. It's not. None of the three addressed this at all.

No, I am finding it all a bit populist (almost DMesque)

vesela · 29/04/2010 21:41

MsDav - why is our deficit so much bigger than others then? You can't go on blaming it on the global recession. That's Gordon Brown's trick - blame it on something else.
