Agreed pw - it makes no sense to prevent someone from working, forced into a position of living on "hand outs" which get some British people annoyed.

It would finally clarify the lie "they took our jobs" which parties like the BNP have suggested, I think.

Will also be a shock to those British people who seem happy to sit back on benefits, and bother looking, and claiming asylum seekers had filled the vacancies (as has happened before now).

The terms for the amnesty are pretty tough IMO, and I suspect only a fraction (10%?) might meet those requirements.
