had a go on this site with shocking results - didn't come up with the party I have always supported at all.

Even managed to agree with one BNP policy without knowing whose it was. Thankfully it was only bringing hospital cleaning in house but it made me panic for a moment there.

OP posts:

I got predominantly Green, I always do

Also, how did anyone get BNP by accident?! Their policies stood out a mile! They're council tax one is great, they will apparently reduce council tax by eliminating political correctness

diedandgonetodevon · 22/04/2010 12:34

5 Conservative, one UKIP (bizarely on 'jobs') and one Labour. Not a particularly surprising result.

policywonk · 22/04/2010 12:36

These sites are a bit dangerous IMO because they're such blunt instruments. I had one the other day that had me down as agreeing with UKIP on something - but on closer examination (on my part) the 'agreement' was entirely cosmetic; I don't agree at all with UKIP on the substance.

gegs73 · 22/04/2010 12:44

Mine was Lib Dem with two conservative and 1 UK Independence Party. And there I was all set to vote Labour .......

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/04/2010 12:49

I did it twice - it came out Labour both times (phew).

The first one - 4 labour, 2 cons, 1 BNP . It was their statement on Europe as well - was not at ALL a BNP statement in my mind. Shocked.

The second one - 1 UKIP, 1 green, 5 labour.

I just picked at random subject areas - didn't want to pick things I 'knew'.

OnlyWantsOne · 22/04/2010 12:51

my results were
25% BNP
25% conservative
25% labour
25% lib dem

doesnt help me much

GrimmaTheNome · 22/04/2010 12:51

I got 2 lab, 2 con, 1 lib, 1 green and 1 UKIP (for trains, where several of the policies of other parties were pretty much equally acceptable).

I guess I should vote to try to get a hung parliament then!

Fennel · 22/04/2010 12:59

I got 6 different parties including 3 parties I'd never vote for, ever.

Somehow I managed to agree with the BNP on environment

scaryteacher · 22/04/2010 12:59

Mine were all Tory. This is the first of these things I've seen that has detailed defence in there as an issue.

AnnieBeansMum · 22/04/2010 13:00

Oh god - I'm labour?? Noooo....

2 lib dem
2 labour
1 conservative
1 green
1 BNP

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/04/2010 13:10

Lib Dem

but very startled to see Nigel Farage in my cabinet under higher education

drowninginclutter · 22/04/2010 13:12

Mainly green with 2 lib dem, probably accurate for me.
I'm leaning towards voting labour though as I'm pretty certain it's going to be them or the tories here.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/04/2010 13:16

I have a new slogan for where people arent seeing Lib Dems as a having a chance in their area:
'A vote for Lib Dems is a Vote for Electoral reform'

cos the more people that vote Lib Dem across the country, the stronger the case for electoral reform.

fillybuster · 22/04/2010 13:22

Conservative. Thankfully...!

Although equally startled to see Nigel Farage running my Higher Ed and Childcare policies!!!

Fliight · 22/04/2010 13:23

There's a HUGE flaw with this thing, and that's that many of these 'promises' by the parties are balderdash.

For example, on a couple of issues such as environment I think, can't remember what, I got UKIP. This is clearly them saying stuff they don't mean, won't follow through and it's completely contrary to their other views which are shit, so I'd never, ever vote for them.

The website is forgetting that most of us vote based on whom we BELIEVE, not just what they say they will do!

Nearly all of mine were green, which is a bit crap because they aren't going to get anywhere near government and probably wouldn't be able to handle it if they did.

It's a waste of time basically.

StealthPolarBear · 22/04/2010 13:28

Mine got it right, which I'm amazed by as I didn't think I had particularyl strong feelings. Plus I did it in a rush. Was expecting BNP

Bumbleconfusus · 22/04/2010 13:54

DH got his highest percentage as BNP... he is Muslim & an immigrant. I think you have to look at core values of parties as well as policies... otherwise he might accidentally be sending himself home...

this is cool!
I surprised myself by coming out quite firmly as a Lib Dem, (not my 'usual' party) but interesting as I have been strongly considering voting for them (while dithering wildly at the same time IYKWIM).

Nymphadora · 22/04/2010 16:47

Where was the box on social care or the public sector or local gov ?

I got mainly Green so that was ok 1lib & 1 lab & 1 Tory

hellymelly · 22/04/2010 17:05

I got the lib dems.

nickelbabe · 22/04/2010 17:19

mine was mostly Green, with one Libdem, one UKIP and one BNP! (the BNP one was about retraining doctors that already existed instead of getting them from abroad: my issue was more to do with creating jobs and making sure the doctors were fully trained and up-to-date than immigration....)

ShadeofViolet · 22/04/2010 17:28

My Results were labour, with a few Lib Dems in my cabinet.

Saw this as one of the policies ''We will train and pay to retain British doctors, nurses and dentists instead of looting the Third World''. Three guesses who's policy that might be! (I didnt choose that BTW!)

cheesypopfan · 22/04/2010 17:41

green and libdem here

But also got a BNP one

can't believe i agreed with one of their policies - Like someone else said you can normally spot them a mile off. The shame.

DontCallMeBaby · 22/04/2010 18:00

Green, but actually three Green minister, three Lib Dem and one Conservative. I've now come out as Lib Dem, Labour and Green on three different 'how to vote' sights. They're actually quite interesting for getting bitesize versions of parties' policies, as long as your brain can work long enough to remember which was which. Impeccable record of not selecting any BNP policies so far - usually easy to spot, even when they're not downright offensive they're a sentence long with short words.
