Which is the best tactical vote to keep out the Tories?

I was all set to vote Lib Dem, very disillusioned by Labour, and then I thought that what I really wanted to do with my vote was vote against Conservative. They would make this country so much worse.

this makes my point better!

It totallydepends upon where you live. Find out who had a majority at the last election, how much that majority was and what the projected swing is this time then vote accordingly.

See here for more info.

I disagree that they will make it so much worse than the state it's in just now. Don't allow GB another term to screw the country over even more.....

Thanks 2cats....

Surely Labour is better than the Tories? We are a household that earns too much for any party making us better off and too poor for any party making us better off, directly. So I have to vote for the party that will make this country the most fair and prosperous for all.

"So I have to vote for the party that will make this country the most fair and prosperous for all. "

You should stick with the Lib Dems then

But if you really want to vote tactically, have a look on ukpollingreport.co.uk and check your constituency results from last time.
Personally, I don't think I could bring myself to vote either Labour or Conservative wherever I lived; they're just so similar now, and I'm fed up with both of them.

Thank god someone is actually concerned about what is best for the country as a whole though, I was starting to get worried by the number of posts on here saying, 'None of the parties are going to do anything for me, what's the point?' Er, there is supposed to be a little more to the democratic process than narrow self-interest...

There are plenty of 'best for the country' messages too heathen it's just that no one can agree who/what is best for the country.

I'm the other end of the scale to posieparker, a single low income mum who thinks even having the Tories would be better for the country than labour will. But luckily I don't need to vote Tory, lib dems are close second to labour here anyway so I'm sticking with them.

If I lived in a labour/Tory constituency I'd be happy to vote Tory to help keep labour out of the seat. That scares me a bit, because I am not a natural Tory voter at all- I really just think labour are that bad.

I am delighted to say my first choice and tactical vote goes to the Lib Dems!

Then you are with the majority for your area. Our local council (as I live in the same city as you) is majority lib dem (31) then labour (25) then Tories (13) and Greens with 1.

If you want to keep the Cons out you would have to move I'm afraid.
