Is David Cameron the Neil Kinnock of 2010?

Is anyone else getting the sneaking feeling that the Conservatives won't win where once you thought it was a dead cert?

In my mind for the last year I've just assumed that come May, Govt will turn blue. After tonight's debate I'm now not so sure at all what will happen. I am rather geekily intrigued at the possibility of a hung Parliament, though no idea what the reality would be like.

Hmmm... interesting. I agree I think.

In some ways, no bad thing. Worst case scenario I'd have thought would be Conservatives coasting in to a landslide victory. God they'd be insufferable!

But, if that makes Brown as unpopular/ineffective as John Major, then frankly we're all fucked.

Listening to lots of post-debate-debate, I'm pleasantly surprised by how spin-savvy and policy-hungry the Great BRitish Public seem to be. Lots of pics of the wives in pretty dresses don't seem to hold much sway, thank god.

Brown isn't as ineffectual as John Major, but does seem to be as unpopular. frankly, it depresses me. people say we need to get him out but when pressed can't actually say what he's done wrong.

Having said that, 14 years in power leads to complacency, and I'm hoping for a hung parliament. A Neil Kinnock moment? I hope so.

Brollyflower - I think you may well be right. It really is annoying me as a habitual Tory voter that Cameron is being so timid.

I would prefer him to come out as a toned down thoughful but strong Nigel Farage figure.
