Anyone else watching this?

I don't particularly like David Cameron, he single-handedly makes me want to vote anything but Tory, intrigued to see if this changes my mind at all.

Yes. I am intrigued about how the programme even came about. Will they be doing the other leaders?

I have been reading the political blogs about how Gordon perfomed on Daily Politics today in front of a live audience. It did not go well. Looked flustered, did not answer questions very well. Seemed arguementative with people who asked reasonable questions.

General opinion is Gordon Brown will not do well in live debate versus David Cameron.

I like looking at his house

loungelizard · 14/03/2010 22:53

Yes, am watching. Will comment when over!

I doubt that GB would come over terribly well in a live debate, don't think it's one of his natural talents, talking and debating eloquently!

Do you tweet? Amazing number of people moaning about how soft the interview is, which I find surprising given that the GB and Piers interview was even softer than this! Perhaps ITV are trying to be balanced(ish) about coverage?

It is very soft. Almost a party political broadcast. Yes I think they are trying to balance it a bit.

No I don't tweet but follow and post on a lot of blogs and forums about politics and economics - all under different names.

LilyBolero · 14/03/2010 23:04

Makes me want to throw up tbh, could be a Party Political Broadcast.

RedbinDippers · 14/03/2010 23:05

Just an advert for Cameron.

loungelizard · 14/03/2010 23:08

He seems very pleasant, as does she, strangely 'unplummy' accent, TMcD being obsequious as usual. Obvs big PR job to get him to interview them. Not much on any policy so far, just the Camerons being shown to be 'normal'people (!!!) in order to get them elected. Looking forward now to the delightful George.

loungelizard · 14/03/2010 23:14

Well that wasn't worth watching, was it??? How extraordinary.

longfingernails · 14/03/2010 23:31

It was a very very soft programme.

Didn't really learn much though I didn't know his father was disabled.

Those Cameron Direct public meeting things do look like a pretty good idea.

He is even posher than I thought. Samantha Cameron seems really nice, and quite nervous.

Did anyone else notice he uses semi-skimmed milk .

Ewe · 14/03/2010 23:34

I honestly didn't think it was any softer than the GB interview, they're character campaigning at the moment and I think they have both tried to show the man behind the politician in v similar ways.

Still don't feel inclined to vote for either of them though!

What is wrong with semi skimmed milk? I feel like I am missing something!

OP posts:
longfingernails · 14/03/2010 23:39

It's a bit indecisive, isn't it?

I mean, choice of milk is a matter which requires conviction - signposts, not weathervanes, etc...

Still, I guess it adds another dimension to "vote blue, go green"...

nutbrownhair · 15/03/2010 21:24

Yuk - didn't like it - 'Mr n Mrs Nice' Etonian David becomes 'good ole Dave, the mate next door' - preferred Gordon being told by Piers someone thought he was delectable lol ! Was more meaty and informative too - Trevor too 'light entertainment.'

longfingernails · 16/03/2010 09:50

The Piers Morgan was meaty and informative? What have you been smoking???

Both of the programmes were utterly soft, and deliberately so. No doubt we will have a similar one with Clegg soon.
