With the election coming up, I thought it would be interesting to do this quiz

I come out as slightly right wing, tending towards anarchist

Please post your results - I'm interested to find out how similar, or diverse we are. I'm nothing to do with any political party, just curious

Economic Left/Right: -5.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.10

Im with Mandela...woo!

Ponders · 10/01/2010 11:15

with Gandhi & Mandela I think

RamblingRosa · 14/01/2010 10:47

I'm more left wing and libertarian than the Dalai Lama and Gandhi

mumblechum · 14/01/2010 11:04

I'm in the bottom left box but q. close to the bottom right box.

Interesting, I think I'm getting a bit more right wing in my old age but this quiz doesn't bear that out.

Many of the questions were loaded, though, imo.

I agree, the questions weren't exactly unbiased. Pleased to be where I am on the chart, though I didn't think I'd be so far towards Libertarian - don't think DC would agree!

Batteryhuman · 14/01/2010 19:30

Left -6.50, libertarian -6.77.

Somewhat more libertarian than Mandela, more to the left than the Dalai Lama

almondfinger · 14/01/2010 19:59

Call me Gandhi II.

Far more left then I would have thought, I suspect even my husband is a little surprised as he slags me for my conservative leanings!

Love a good quiz.

electra · 20/01/2010 19:35

I fit with Gandhi as well...

domesticextremist · 20/01/2010 19:46

ahem further than Mandela and Gandhi but I wouldnt call myself an anarchist by any means - lots of the questions left no room for grey...

Love this sort of nonsense.
I'm slightly to the left of Nelson Mandela; DH (as I thought, soppy wet git) is more liberal than Gandhi.
What always surprises me about things like this is that for half the questions I'm thinking "well obviously there's only one right answer to THAT one" - didn't see any dots for "bigot"

MummyPig · 20/01/2010 22:51

I was a lefty libertarian too: (-6.88,-7.49)

BeckyBook · 22/01/2010 23:34

Extremely left-leaning, extremely libertarian (-7.75, -7.90)

ivanahoe · 30/01/2010 16:12

Im left of centre because I believe the State via tax payers money should play a vital role as the state does across the EU.

The self styled individualistic approach brought in by Thatcher might have cornered the self interested British middle class vote, but it has also brutilised Britain, and our elderly people have taken the brunt of the last 30 years in this country thanks to New Labour following in Thatcher's footsteps.

Remotew · 30/01/2010 16:32

I'm a leftie libertarian but not that extreme. -2.50 and -2.87.

CantSupinate · 30/01/2010 16:34

On which websites would Authoritarian Rightwingers predominate in the replies, do we think? Jeremy-Clarke-fans-United.org? Matthew-Parris-Is-my-Honeybunny.com? Senior-Surfers.co.uk?

I'm another one cavorting down in the Dalai Llama's quarter. I really thought I'd come out more right wing on economic stuff, though.

Anyone else wish they could put down 'neutral' on some of the questions? I don't really have an opinion about the death penalty, for instance.

TheFallenMadonna · 30/01/2010 16:36

I'm a leftie libertarian too, which upsets me as I rather thought I was authoritarian, rather than somewhere to the south of the Dalai Lama.

Ivykaty44 · 30/01/2010 16:48

Economic Left/Right: -4.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.26

Ivykaty44 · 30/01/2010 16:50

neutral doesn't count though - so it wouldn't work...

Granny23 · 30/01/2010 17:12

Also just SW of Dalai Lama, which is I think accurate. I looked at the other chart re political parties and the only one in this area is the Greens. I would vote Green if I lived in England, but here in Scotland I vote SNP ( who are not shown on the chart but are surely well to the left of Labour)

imgonnaliveforever · 03/02/2010 15:53

I am Gandhi!

pooter · 03/02/2010 16:08

-6 and -6, so another Dalai Lama here

-6.12, 0.46

Left/Authoritarian; not a surprise to me.

lou031205 · 03/02/2010 16:35

Am I the only one with a + value for libertarian/authoriarian - no wonder I feel like an alien on so many threads.
