Ending homelessness with £340 million

Genuinely interested to hear views from anyone who knows more about this sector than I do. Is this realistic? Is increased funding the only barrier to ending homelessness? If he couldn’t do it in Manchester, what will be different on a national scale?

I was in their shoes, and still am with some things. Though I understand what you’re saying

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this, I can't imagine how hard it must be. We take a lot for granted in this world and having a place to live is one of them.

Many children are growing up with insecurities around living conditions. What saddest part is there is always someone ready to profit from it.

I don't have any answers but what I do know is people should take a breath and have some compassion.

About a year ago I was walking through a city centre and a young woman approached me absolutely freezing and desperate. She wanted some money for a hot drink. The girl looked about the same age as my daughter and I stopped and said I can buy you some food and a hot drink. I took her into Pret got her a seat, much to the horror of people sitting there, and got her some food and a hot drink. We didn't really talk but she looked cold and desperate

I have no idea whether I was being a mug for doing it, but that point in time a desperate person got the attention of someone on a busy street in the middle of winter and got 20 minutes respite from the harsh reality of living on the streets. Couldn't afford to do it for everyone but as a society we can make things better we just have to make a small sacrifice ourselves and collectively we have the power to do a lot of good

There's a lot of hate, rage and anger in this country these days and I think sometimes we need think more about what this is doing to us
