I can't bear Reform, as anyone who has seen my other posts on MN will know. I think they present a massive threat to our country and I'm horrified by their popularity, but I haven't seen any clear evidence yet that the MP did anything wrong in this case.
MPs are supposed to help their constituents, regardless of criminal records etc. They don't make judgements about who is worthy of help and who isn't. Is there any suggestion that the help offered was somehow inappropriate?
I suspect that they didn't know the history when they posted about helping her. More of a PR fail in this case, then any genuine wrongdoing perhaps?
There is much to criticise about Reform and its members, but from my perspective, a PR disaster arising from the MP helping a not very deserving constituent should not be our primary concern.
Of course, I am ready to be corrected if there is evidence of the MP having been complicit in any benefit fraud, but I don't think that's the case?
