I think the Muppet has declared that someone is working class/wealthy if they can afford to get their boiler replaced without getting a Loan…he must be the only person in the world who believes this! It is certainly not my depiction of a working class person, more about someone who has worked hard and managed to create some savings.

Well as the whole Labour policy seems to be to encourage people to not save and prepare for their and their children’s futures, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Trying to find the link..think it was part of a recent debate in Parliament, caught it on You Tube, but can’t find it now!!

I've had a quick google and I can't find any mention of this.

However, he would have a point - there are so many people in this country with no savings at all, living one month to the next. You see it on here all the time.

I can see this as one, out of many, measures. My mum has just had to replace her boiler. She has a miniscule savings, but was able to pay for it out of her savings. Had she had to take a loan, then this would have incurred interest, and she doesn't earn enough to avoid that becoming a financial trap. So she's on the brink, but just above it, because she had that savings.
