It will probably go over trumps head, but that speech felt like a big 'screw you, you will never get it to the tantruming taco'.

Thank you for querying that 10% figure @SharonEllis. I’ve never heard of it either. Even the terrorists Hamas don’t cite that number and goodness knows they like to exaggerate the death toll.

You’re right @Tonty. Pesky autocorrect. Thanks for so gracefully bringing it to my attention.

Denmark will be fine, Greenland might be tempted. Canada's divided like many other countries.

An attack on Greenland is an attack on Denmark and would trigger a NATO response.

By default America becomes a hostile state through a single act.

The war was not holding a population to account for an election. It was holding the government to account for an act of war. Hamas as the government is responsible for the act of war and not adequately protecting its population.

What is your source for over 10% killed? The Official (Hamas) death toll is 68, 172 which is just over 3% of the pre 7 October population of 2.1 million. We don't know how many of those are Hamas fighters as ways of estimating that vary rather wildly but we know its a significant proportion. That is not a population 'massively' depleted.

Look at the mean age of Palestinians, large part of the population are children. Israel has been collectively murdering children in response to a terrorist act.

If you can't see what's wrong with killing children then theres no hope for you.

As I was saying people are so quick to say such silly things but if it was their children being bombarded day and night then they would be screaming about how barbaric it is.

British people have become detached from what war means, the reason I think is because many of our veterans from the second world war are gone.....with it their wisdom.

You need to take it up with Hamas. The second world war generation didn't appease fascists.

Palestinians deserve peace, they are victims of apartheid. The terrorist you talk about were not elected.

I don't like the word terrorist because these days it's used flippantly. In Antrim we often heard about Gerry Adams in the British media referred to as a terrorist. His voice could not be broad casted in TV. Years later he's a political figure that brought peace to communities North of the border.

In order for peace there has to be reconciliation and. Stop to violence.

The IRA were allocated terrorists but in an objective way, I think I see them far more as ‘resistance’ than Hamas. For a start they didn’t take anyone hostage, secondly they didn’t use sexual violence, thirdly they (usually - not always) phoned with a warning when a bomb was about to go off, and ultimately they were willing to compromise when it came to it.

None of the above apply to Hamas.

A small proportion of the current population of Gaza voted for Hamas 20 years ago and you think that justifies genocide?

Most of the current (massively depleted) population weren't even alive or of voting age back then.

Half the seats in Gaza weren't won by Hamas. Seats in the Christian areas of Palestine went to Hamas as a protest vote against Fatah. It's worth looking at the facts if the 2006 vote if you're going to use it to justify genocide against people who were too young to vote.

Edited

I don't believe I said anything about justifying genocide.

It's amazing how little some people understand about Palestine. Hamas won an election but an internal conflict broke out between Fatah and Hamas....since then the people have had little say In what happens.

You have to understand that the people of Palestine are hostages in their own country. Israel's right wing government has done a lot to destabilise the country because it wants the strip for itself funding and arming militias.

Im not saying Israel is wrong to target Hamas, but if you look at the war effort there's a lot more going off than targeting Hamas. They have displaced the entire population and killed many many innocent people.

The days of carpet bombing populated urban areas of over as an acceptable consequence of war. If they wanted Hamas they should have sent ground offensive and dealt with the casualties. Instead they went for the easy option of flattering an entire city.
