This is a long story. I'm from Scotland. Tenements from across the road decided a few years back, to remove back court bins and to use 12/14 large metallic bins instead. The bins were stored within a lane that's owned by around 9 tenements. Each tenement has direct access to the lane/bins. As they were mucky beggars, the lane this year filled up with refuse bags because they were too lazy to put them in the bins. Add to that, they refused to close the gate which is at the entrance and so attracted fly tipping.
The residents have now moved all the bins into the road in front of my tenement. It's not a council enforced bin hub. We still have back court bins so can't understand why they can't have the same.
The metallic bins are an eyesore, attract vermin, flies, they stink and take up parking spaces. No amount of complaining to the council is helping. I'm not the only one complaining. Surely this is an illegal action and the council have a duty to force the residents across the street to move them back into the lane?
Picture is an example of the bins.
