I have followed the progress of various protests, the Epping Hotel one is not far from me, not that I have got involved either way and I honestly don't know what the answer is there, I can see both sides have a point.
Then I've seen advertised further protests like the one above, to be honest it looks a bit scary. Then the counter protests planned for the same day, it struck me that the police will have their work cut out keeping the two sides apart.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have each protest on a different day? With both sides feeling passionate enough about their view to give their time and energy to travel and march for their cause it's not surprising that facing an opposing view often erupts into trouble.
Also perhaps each 'argument' could be more clearly 'heard' without the distractions of conflict.
Or is that the point maybe, that each view must be challenged at the point of protest?
Perhaps I'm thinking of it in too simplistic terms, but I'm thinking of people being injured or property damaged in the process, happy to be corrected.
I don't want to get involved in a political argument - that's not the point of my post just really to ask regarding if it is reasonable to separate opposing views so that the can't protest in the same area or if they want to protest in the same area then they could choose a different day.
