Are there, or were there, any famous politicians that made your heart go thumpity thump?

Obama or Sunak (for as long as he lasted) or Trudeau, or.................... nah, not Trump.

Anyone else on the public political stage that makes your heart beat faster? From anywhere in the world?

I'd do Emmanuel Macron if it were an emergency

Twoshoesnewshoes · 25/07/2024 15:25

I couldn’t though - EM- poor groomed wee lad

ByCupidStunt · 25/07/2024 15:25

Zelensky for sure

SantaMariaMaggiore · 25/07/2024 15:26

Am considering Enrique Peña Nieto

Sounds grumpy again. Making a suggestion is telling you what to do??

Oh no, a random man thinks I'm grumpy.

Happyinarcon · 25/07/2024 15:34

Jacob Rees Mogg or however his name is spelt :-( I’m not proud of it. But I watched him in some round table debate things with EU reps and he spoke so clearly, so precisely and so eloquently. He was so direct and pragmatic. That’s a real skill, almost an art form. I felt I could watch him debate EU leaders forever. And if Britain had voted remain I probably would be.

Zelensky for sure

Surprised not more votes for him.

I'd love a night out with Boris Johnson. And that Manchester mayor guy is quite hot.

Scottish ladies my age may remember Tommy Sheridan in his prime with fondness.

John Prescott. Nicholas Soames. Mmmm.

A chipolata and a wardrobe key, lovely.

Shoutywouty · 25/07/2024 15:41

Definitely Keir Starmer. There’s something about him..

lol, who was it who said that about Nicholas Soames? That sleeping with him was like having a large wardrobe topple over on her with the key still in it 😂

KreedKafer · 25/07/2024 15:49

Zelenskyy.

It wasn’t a ‘suggestion’. You said ‘Don’t be grumpy’, which is an imperative sentence - grammatically, that is telling someone what to do. That’s not how you ‘suggest’ something. Just FYI.

Sex with Jacob Rees Mogg would surely be like tripping over a penny farthing in a dark alleyway.

I’m not sure she was ever identified, but then a million pounds wouldn’t tempt me to admit sleeping with either of them, so I’m not surprised!😆

I absolutely love Obama. I didn't fancy him as such but I loved his intelligence and the way he spoke. He's the most articulate and culturally sensitive leader I've ever come across.

VictoriaEra · 25/07/2024 16:08

I'd love to answer that honestly but I would be pilloried. I'd have to log off or delete my account. But, to be fair I had always liked him before he was PM, when he was just a journalist...

Yes. I don't fancy him, but I would happily talk with him for hours.

Still sounds grumpy. Have some fun with this thread.

Well, Zelensky is rather nice.

I told someone - a Tory - that I fancy David Lammy. I do quite like his face, actually. That's not the same thing as agreeing with what he says. I might, or not.

Pakistan's Imran Khan was a dish when he was a cricketer and before he embraced politics. I can't even think whether he's in or out of prison just at present but I guess if he was interviewed on TV, for longer than a sound bite, he would be the same attractive, with his voice and looks and manner.

ginasevern · 25/07/2024 16:25

Not fancy, but probably one of the best looking political figures I can think of was a young Joseph Stalin. In the here and now (but not UK) Senator Cory Booker is a bit lush.
