Do you discuss your vote with your partner?

Do you tell your partner who you voted for?
Do you tell your parents? My mum always insists on asking but I never tell her, I feel weird about it and I don’t know why!

No, DP is, as far as I can tell, a shy Tory which I don’t really want to know or discuss. He also gets a bit huffy and offended when talking about politics so I try and give it a wide birth. Parents similar although wouldn’t get huffy about it but I’ve never discussed with them. I live in a very Tory area (although we now have a Lib Dem mp!).

We discussed it a lot, as we normally do. DH voted differently to me but neither of us have a problem with that.

Yes of course. Politics is important to both of us and it's fair to say we wouldn't be together if we had diametrically opposing views. But we are both left-wing. We don't always vote for the same party and we disagree about certain issues but we have the same broad outlook. Same with my family.

Definitely. Happy to be open about it with anyone.

DH and I both discuss it. My parents know too.

I wonder if lots of younger people aren’t voting because ‘they don’t know enough about it’ is due to families not talking about it enough.
