My mother was Conservative through and through and even shook Mrs Thatcher's hand once on a visit to our town - a fact she later denied.;

My dad voted Liberal mainly because his best friend did and he was always swayed by his opinions.

They both had a deepseated hatred of the SNP.

Diehard Labour

Parents & grandparents all Labour. My Mum is almost 94 and determined to hang on to see the next Labour government! She watches a lot of US politics too and doesn't want to miss Trump losing.

I'm an active Labour member and my adult children vote Labour. I'll be helping with last minute canvassing, delivering leaflets and 'getting the vote out' in the autumn but not in my own constituency, which has a huge Tory majority but might go Lib Dem!

Dad Conservative..( Mum nothing) they would be 98 years old now. My Dad thought Margaret Thatcher was brilliant.. intelligent and amazing.
I'm the same.

No idea, it wasn't something they discussed, I think they did vote but never really mentioned it.

This is so alien to me. You couldn't have gone a day in my house growing up without knowing what their political beliefs were!Grin

When I was growing up dad voted Tory while mum stood for the Greens. These days they’re divorced, he’s a member of the Tory party and mum’s politically homeless and raging at all of them, especially the gender woo nutty Green Party who are no longer an option.

My mum and GPs definitely Tory. I have no idea about my Dad. I suspect he didn't bother to vote. I certainly never heard him utter a political opinion, but my contact with him was always a bit sporadic, so I can't be sure what he thought about anything really. Apart from the pub. He was a big supporter of the pub.
