Johnson's dog could do a better job

At running the country? Yes, I think it would be pretty easy for Labour to do a better job than this shower of shite.

Johnson is taking the piss, breaking the law, laughing at us whilst the government writes off fraud, gives contracts to contacts/donors, cuts services we need and watches the economy bomb.

Boris johnson needs removing as a sign that we as a country will not have a leader so inept, so dishonest and so corrupt who shows his own people such contempt

Sadly they are not done with him yet, so he will stay put until things have settled down a bit and a new leader can have more of a clear slate so to speak
Yes labour could do better, as could any other person or party at the moment.

Are we...the vaste majority of Mumsnet not worried the more liberal parties not only have nothing more to give but are also taking away the identity we as women have fought hundreds of years to define?

Labour may be TWAW but the Tories (especially BoJo and chums) are just old fashioned sexists who don’t give a shite about women and never have.

As a matter of interest, what makes you think that a Labour government would do a worse job than the incumbents? What is it you think is going well now that would deteriorate ?

Very apparent this weekend of the contrast between good leadership, integrity and the service given by the Queen and the actions and moral purpose of Boris.

He needs to go and the Tories need to make sure that happens.

I'm in no position to say anything that tories are doing is correct. Could we agree though that under a labour government the money tree that we love to talk about would
Be bare -having given out millions upon millions in support of communities during
Covid. Rishi did a pretty good job of spending money here there and everywhere but can we assume
He has some left to bail
Us out once again due to the energy crisis..... both covid and the fat cats taking the oil price profits not directly the governments fault but they are trying to support the needy?....

If Rishi does have some money to use I wish he would direct it at the services starved of cash. Education, schools, childcare, SEND, family support, local authority support for schools through a democratic process.

Isn’t happening though is it. Stick to giving the money to fat cat MAT CEO’s.

But labour have their fat cats and friends too. If it's not Tory friends it's them. The NHS , education, etc etc all need help but I can't imagine any party could direct the fundings to perfectly suit everyone's needs.
In an ideal world they can all 'FO'

What would need to happen realistically for EVERYONE to be happy and cared for... isn't an economy based on some being ahead, and some behind?

What, you mean communism? That has no track record of making people happy, quite the opposite.

Could you please tell me who you mean specifically when you say 'Labour have their fat cats and friends too' because it sounds like you are just saying they are all the same, which I think is not applying your faculties enough - politics is about different parties doing different things. Strong public standards and tight governance frameworks can counter corruption and Labout have now put forward policies in these areas.

Report
areyougonnago · 06/06/2022 21:09

Quite the opposite - I am more than aware that not everyone can be happy, communism doesn't work, my limited political understanding stretches Atleast that far!
Where would the government get more money from though. In order to further support those that need it... realistically not from their own profit and undermining their own fat cat friends and you cannot deny they will have their own level of corruption... we'll all have even higher taxes to pay and we'll moan about that too.

You say that, but you give the strong impression that you've made up your mind already and this is one of those "questions" that isn't really a question.

Not atall. Hence me saying I'm willing to be educated.
You're one of those 'people' in school who said ... 'well if you don't know.... I can't tell you'
Not helpful when I'm genuinely open to expand my thoughts.

I hate Bojo and he should go ........ but I really can't see a Labour politician standing up to Russia. Kier Starma seems intelligent, sensible but too busy being nice and inclusive to encourage the bumping off of a few Russians.
Anyone who thinks former men should compete in women's sport has lost their marlbles.

I agree so far. They're busy raking in the minority votes by being so 'woke' and don't think they could stand up to our actual problems

BJ vs Labour? Thinking that statement alone would be enough for me to not vote Tory for the foreseeable. The balance of the question is concerning.

Boris is not the Tories, he is not the only option (despite what you’re being marketed) and to think that statement is a sure sign you’ve bought into the propaganda and cult of personality on some level.

The Tories pissed millions of public money away on giving contracts for covid supplies to their mates and on fraudulent loans, so they are hardly the fiscally responsible party any more.

Until Labour become better than the Conservatives at winning a UK general election, we're never going to know how good they'd be at running a government or the country.
