Hi. Not sure if I'm posting in the right place.
My DD is doing a school project on WWII and one of the people they have to cover is Lord Woolton and whether or not he was popular.

Have gone through the Google route, but can only find facts and information on him (i.e. consersative; rations etc) but not whether the decisions he made, were popular.
Is anyone able to help please?

Didn’t he have a really vile pie named after him? Can’t remember what was in it but it tasted awful!

Woolton Pie is just a root vegetable pie. It is quite palatable.

He couldn't be Lord Marquis when he was knighted because Marquis is a rank of nobility.

@RHTawneyonabus he did apparently!
Got loads of useless information about him but nothing to say whether he was popular or not lol

Woolton was popular. Despite being a Tory his work was very much based around supporting people, not just the economy.

Also remember there were no opinion polls back then, so evidence would be largely anecdotal. Not sure how old your daughter is, but she might want to phrase it in a "This is what he did... This would/ would not make him popular because..." kind of way.
