I have been following the US elections avidly and cannot wait for Trump to loose. I don't pretend to know and understand everything about US and British politics but I try to keep informed.

DH questions why I am so interested as according to him it doesn't affect us. I think he is wrong, I think the most powerful president of the free world will affect us. I think it could affect climate change, the NHS, trade laws, trading standards and our Brexit deal.

What affect is Trump loosing likely to have on us? What are Biden's policies on these issues?

Boris Johnson and Joe Biden are not friends so trouble looms there for any deals.

It makes a no deal Brexit a bit less likely. Biden is anti-Brexit and identifies as an Irish-American. He has said that the U.K. needs to respect no hard border in Ireland. Any attempt for a hard Brexit would mean no US trade deal, so then what would be the point.

Oh good- I don't want a hard Brexit.

Are they not friends because they have different views?

I am really hoping Biden takes climate change more seriously and signs up to the plagues and keeps them.

I think BJ might start being a bit more agreeable in the negotiations with the EU for a start. Biden et all couldn't care less about the U.K. we won't get a decent deal from them and BJ needed that really so he could flounce off from the EU with no deal, waving two fingers at them.
