David Davies without a notebook,

So he has arrived at a. Brexit meeting with apparently no notes and nothing to write on!!! Other negotiators sitting with plenty of paper on show. Should we be worried? Have you ever gone to any meeting without a notebook? To be honest I am going down the road of believing we are being governed by people of little intelligence who are more interested in self advancement than serving thus country. Can anyone give me hope?

Apparently it was in his bag

Hahahahahahhaha

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 08:52

It could have been in their bags Hmm

Although they should have realised how bad it was going to look

As dh said 'unprepared'

honeysucklejasmine · 19/07/2017 08:53

And he's the best one for the job. Hmm

time4chocolate · 19/07/2017 09:02

It's the 21st century, who needs pen and paper. Maybe he was going to whip out his electronic 'notebook' and give a power point type presentation😊. Who knows.

HappydaysArehere · 19/07/2017 09:24

Come on everyone. Is that all the hope you can give us? However, perhaps he handed his demands in before he left with the ps " anything different and you lot can (as my best mate told me to say) go whistle!"
Disaster, upon disaster! With no help in sight!

OP posts:
Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 09:29

It was in his bag

And electronic

How much more hope do you need Hmm

We are fucked aren't we...

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 09:30

Its all up here

That's where it is Rufus. Of course it is. Silly me! What's to worry about?

OP posts:
cdtaylornats · 19/07/2017 10:12

Given that it was a 2 hour meeting you might ask why weren't the EU officials properly prepared? Why did they need so many notes?

ThursdayLastWeek · 19/07/2017 10:16

Brexit Bulldog Out

time4chocolate · 19/07/2017 15:16

I don't think it proves anything one way or the other, whether he has a notebook or he doesn't have a notebook in that photo - who cares (well apart from the media/paps who aren't able to zoom in with their lenses for a juicy tit bit of info).

HappydaysArehere · 19/07/2017 15:49

Well time4chocolate, There is a glimmer of hope in your admirable optimism. Well done!

If Corbyn or McDonnell were negotiating, they would have diligently brought their abacus to Brussels - and the rest of us would be buying a derivative there of.

Worry beads.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 16:14

Why does this keep happening

Poster 1: i am worried about the negotiating skills of david davis

Poster 2: would be worse if corbyn was doing it

What the hell has that got to do with anything

honeysucklejasmine · 19/07/2017 17:18

Because their option only looks good in comparison with the imagined performance of Corbyn. Rather than being a talented negotiator, or skilled diplomat... If you can't talk up your own side, talk about how bad the opposition is.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 17:28

Fucking ridiculous

Sums up the whole election

Especially on mumsnet...every sodding post 'i dont like the conservatives' ' labour would be worse'

Is not even debating...it's pathetic

TheaSaurass · 19/07/2017 17:49

Rufus

Woz you hoping for an in-depth debate on a minister forgetting his notebook, as your earlier posts didn't indicate that?

Sorry is this is just a Tory bashing board, i didn't see the notice.

TheaSaurass · 19/07/2017 17:53

"Disaster, upon disaster! With no help in sight!"

Not political there then.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 17:56

honey

Someone on the other thread has mentioned his negotiating skills so hopefully they have some examples

You would imagine that the tory party have a weath of talent so hopefully he is one of the best...very hopefully Smile

soundsystem · 19/07/2017 17:59

It wouldn't be Corbyn though, it would be Keir Starmer. Who I reckon could be relied upon to turn up with a notebook...

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 18:13

You would think they would have a notebook and pen there on the table for everyone

With a matching mug

All with the EU logo

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 18:13

Shoddy

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 19/07/2017 18:22

See...

Its not like you can't get them

David Davies without a notebook,
squishysquirmy · 19/07/2017 18:41

Can you imagine the moaning about EU gravy trains if it emerged that the bureaucrats all got free, logoed mugs and notepads off the back of the negotiations? Grin.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/07/2017 18:44

I thought this photograph was meant to illustrate the bloated slow moving bureaucracy of the EU as compared to the swift moving incisive UK, tearing up all the red tape?
