Will you vote on the basis of the candidate or the party they stand for?

We've got a good local MP, but I don't support the party they stand for. Still not sure how to vote and would be interested to hear how others decide.

Is that the one that said I should vote SNP? A bit hard in SE England.

And why do (usually Labour supporters) always bang on about Tuition fees? Lib Dems weren't the major party in government and did modify the Conservative position, which the Conservatives have been modifying towards unlimited fees and a small or no threshold before repayments start.

Will Jeremy Corbyn really abolish tuition fees?

How many promises have Conservatives and Labour broken over the years?

mummytime probably because they banged on about it so much. It was one of the reasons they won so many votes from young people. Don't get me wrong - I am not defending the Tories or Labour - but the LibDems lost tons of votes after they had been in coalition, because people felt betrayed that they had voted tactically to remove the Tories and then just ended up with the same old. It's not necessarily a solution, is all I'm saying, without looking at the personalities involved.

I am still undecided. My local MP is APPALLING - lazy, ultra right wing, probably rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect of bringing back fox hunting. I think I would voted for anyone who stood the best chance of unseating the lazy f*er.

Definitely the party, it's about policies not personality

Will Jeremy Corbyn really abolish tuition fees?

In my opinion yes (I will admit to a pro Corbyn bias here tho mummytime)

The reason I think so because of the direction hes taking the party and hopefully the country, by creating the NES (national education service) which encompasses all of pre, primary, secondary and tertiary education he is aiming to bring education to the masses in the same way that the NHS brought health to the masses, yes I know everyone has access to education right now but there is no parity, by eliminating the fees at tertiary its allowing those from poorer backgrounds, people who want/need to retrain from having to put themselves in debt, a well educated population is not a bad thing for the growth of britain whether in or out of the EU

The LibDems do seem to be held to a higher standard of behaviour than other parties. And I thought that promise was naive at the time, but then no one expected them to get power. Just as to be honest no one really expects Jeremy to get into power.

I do feel betrayed by the way Jeremy didn't stand up to the Tories over Brexit, not allowing a free vote or supporting the amendments.

But I grew up in a safe Labour area so am quite cynical towards them.

I agree mummytime. The only choice we had after the 2010 election was a minority Tory government or a coalition government with the Lib Dems. Even if they had teamed up with Labour, they wouldn't have been able to form a government. A minority Tory government would probably have meant another election a few months later where they might have scraped a majority, which they did in 2015. The Lib Dems held the Tories to account, insisted on some of the better policies were implemented and facilitated a stable government. Yet they were punished how? By people voting against them and for a majority Tory government! It cant all have been because f a naive promise on tuition fees. The Tories and the press really stitched them up on that one and knew they would see the end of them. Labour have seen the end of themselves. They dont need any help!
