Want to vote Tory but Boris Johnson...

Is it possible Mrs May will sideline him? Has she given him enough rope to hang himself? He is acting like a loose cannon; sounding off about strikes on Syria, refusing to talk to Putin at a time of great political sensitivity, bad mouthing Corbyn in an entirely over the top, unprofessional way which is only likely to raise the sympathy/underdog vote. The world is a potentially dangerous place at the present time. We need someone with experience in skilled diplomacy. Surely, we can do better than this egotistical, power hungry journalist. I am really worried.

I too haven't voted Labour for some time due to Tony Blair and the illegal Iraq war. In the past I have voted for the Lib Dems and the Green Party.

However, at the next election I will be undecided who to vote for. This because I can't stand Tim Fallon and his crusade to ride rough shod over democracy.

The people decided and the majority of those who voted decided to leave the EU. Like everyone they had their reasons for their choice and they knew what they were voting for.

Likewise I will not vote for the Greens because, first it's a wasted vote and second they also want another referendum.

Why is it that anyone who voted to leave and/or is a Daily Mail reader is considered to be lacking in brain cells, a racist or a right wing Tory. That there must be something wrong with them. Well that is not the case for me.

It seems that wherever you are on the political spectrum that if others do not think as you do, that there opinion does not matter. This thinking then leads onto the view that they are not as intelligent as you. This can then lead on to the decision that 'they' must be reprogrammed to the right way of thinking!

At the end of the day I just think, where in any other area of your life would you join a club which you could never leave without the threat of severe punishment. Or worse that the club did not tell you beforehand, that the rules would change, the aim of the club would change but you can't leave because it wiil be worse for you on the outside and the club will ensure that's the case.

I'm not thinking everything will be rosy. But like leaving a cosy job or a home where your family live nearby, sometimes you have to take a leap of faith for somrething that may be a lot better than you have now. If it doesn't work straight away you make it work eventually.

If you have the language and other skills (which unfortunately Brits generally don't as English is a world language) the whole world is your oyster.

So BrexitVoter, I am guessing that you voted to leave and/or read the Daily Mail and now will vote for the right wing Tories.

I am sure you are very intelligent and expect that you are not racist. I am wondering though how voting for the right wing Tories makes you anything other than a right wing Tory.

It was yourself in your post above who listed that option along with being lacking in brain cells and racism.

"Like everyone they knew what they were voting for". I am seeing quite a bit of voter regret which makes me wonder about this point.

What do you think about Scottish independence, by the way? Just wondering about your comments regarding the club which you could never leave without the threat of severe punishment...!

I can't stand Tim Fallon and his crusade to ride rough shod over democracy.

I'm not sure how you can class holding a referendum whether to accept or reject the deal that the govt manages to negotiate as riding 'roughshod over democracy'.

Brexit is essentially a divorce. And just like divorce, when you see the terms of the divorce settlement, you can either accept it or reject it. Unless you are one of those who wish to leave at ANY cost. In which case I suspect you are in the minority.

The EU is not threatening to 'punish' the UK. More like the current UK position is akin to trying to have your cake and eat it. As a member of the EU, we've made commitments to various projects which you can understand, they want us to honour. Just like if we signed a contract for say a new mobile phone. We can't just say "Nah, don't want it anymore" and expect to not be chased for the money.

The £100billion is simply an opening guesstimate from the press. The final amount will take into account our contributions too and I expect it to be much less.

The simple fact is that the Leave camp promised us the earth. That there'd be no bill, continued access to the single market, more money for the NHS. Basically jam today and jam tomorrow. Now that reality is starting to sink in.

It's not looking as rosy. Understandably the EU are saying 'hang on a minute.....we can talk about a new trade deal but you'll have to agree to pay up first on your existing deals first!'

It seems to be a HUGE surprise to the Brexiteers that the EU is acting as a bloc. That they've closed ranks and singing from the same hymn sheet. That is the whole bloody point of the EU. That as a bloc of nations working together that we'd be able to get better deals than individually.

Of course it's our right to leave. But don't expect the rest of the EU to crumble and beg us to stay.
