Can you guess which party?

One of their representatives tried to claim that it wasn't uncommon, and quite possibly Blair and Brown used to have physical fights.
Stupid cow.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 06/10/2016 18:24

Do we have any more details? I just saw on the BBC that one of them is in hospital Shock

WinnieTheW0rm · 06/10/2016 18:25

No one has described the incident. So how do you know it was a 'violent brawl'?

And if asked this question without having seem the news today, I'd have thought Prescott, so Labour.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 06/10/2016 18:30

I don't think any of us was there, so here's a link:

Hilarious.

I'm sure it was Stephen Woolf himself who said on PM yesterday that UKIP "at least we're nowhere near as bad as the [internal fighting in the] Labour party, thank God".

Arf.

They had a heated discussion, SW suggested "taking other outside", the other guy took off his jacket and followed him out and then punches were thrown. And SW then apparently fell and banged his head.

That's what they just said on PM.

gettingtherequickly · 06/10/2016 18:30

One MEP offered to take the other "outside", jackets were Dropped, sleeves rolled up and punches thrown in a corridor.
Wolfe slipped and hit his head, collapsed a couple of hours later.

UKIP have always been an absolute embarrassment in the EU parliament.

No one has described the incident. So how do you know it was a 'violent brawl'?

"UKIP sources said "punches were exchanged" during the row at a party meeting and Mr Woolfe banged his head."

Steven Woolfe 'smiling and well'

www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/oct/06/ukip-leadership-favourite-steven-woolfe-collapses-in-european-parliament

"“I am feeling brighter, happier and smiling as ever. I am sitting up and said to look well,” Woolfe said in a statement from hospital. “The CT scan has shown that there is no blood clot in the brain. The only consequence at the moment is a bit of numbness on the left hand side of my face. I am being kept in overnight awaiting secondary tests to make sure everything is fine.”"

It is reported that UKIP members have been instructed not to talk about the fight.

Not their finest moment Hmm

CousinCharlotte · 06/10/2016 18:49

Neil Hamilton didn't get the 'don't talk about the fight' memo 🤔

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 06/10/2016 18:54

It's beyond doubt that something happened, but it'd be going far too far to extrapolate that to violent brawl.

And collapsing two hours later? One sided symptoms? Did the poor chap have a stroke?

gettingtherequickly · 06/10/2016 19:21

He hit his head.

I have teenagers who know better than to behave like that.

gettingtherequickly · 06/10/2016 19:22

Farage said "I'm not going to talk about the altercation or name names today" so tomorrow then?

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 06/10/2016 19:25

Yes, he hit his head. But he collapsed some hours later and does not appear to have a subarachnoid haemorrhage. So with one sided symptoms, surely that suggests TIA/stroke?

We don't know whether there is a causative link between the two events, or if the principle cause of one sided symptoms accompanied by collapse is indeed a possibility.

gettingtherequickly · 06/10/2016 19:30

He's in overnight, I'm sure we'll hear in due course. A stroke would have shown from a blood test wouldn't it? But they might just not be releasing the info.

Regardless, a 49 year old man who thinks it's appropriate to throw punches should not be representing our nation. (Unless it's in an Olympic boxing ring) Wink

BigChocFrenzy · 08/10/2016 09:33

Punches to the head, or that are hard enough to knock someone down, are always dangerous
If the stroke had been fatal, the police would be investigating if the other UKIP MEP should face manslaughter charges

BigChocFrenzy · 08/10/2016 09:37

When Labour MP Eric Joyce got into a brawl at the House of Commons, he was suspended and it ended his career. Noone went to hospital then

Amazing to think that someone who challenged a fellow MEP to brawl could still be in contention as a party leader
