UKIP got mine, but I'm in an region with a safe Tory seat.

1.Your choice depresses me. 2. I hope not.

Sorry OP. Claig will be impressed with your choice though.

Pancakeflipper · 07/05/2015 14:42

Oh boy, I stupidly honestly thought people wouldn't actually vote for UKIP.

There's 2 parties battling it out here. The 2 main contenders are currently stomping the pavements in the area to get us to vote as every vote does count.

I have not yet voted, doing that this evening. I love Polling Stations.

Hmmm2014 · 07/05/2015 14:44

Your choice depresses me too. Especially after reading an article about UKIP/Farage's attitude to women...

LittleLionMansMummy · 07/05/2015 14:53

Hmmm - is that the one where he says mothers returning to work should expect to be paid less than their male co-workers?

PurpleDaisies · 07/05/2015 15:01

I love Polling Stations.

Me too! I was really hoping to be first at mine this morning but three other keen beans beat me to it.

Voted lib dem but it is a very safe labour seat here.

silveroldie2 · 07/05/2015 15:37

I voted Conservatives in a safe seat to keep my current MP's percentage topped up.

JackSkellington · 07/05/2015 16:25

I voted SNP, previous safe seat but predicted to go to the SNP this time.

Pyjamaface · 07/05/2015 16:28

Haven't voted yet, going after work but I'm voting for local Conservative MP as he was hugely helpful to my family last year.

National ballot I am spoiling so no, it won't count

50ShadesofNope · 07/05/2015 17:01

Lib Dems - It won't count because I'm in a very safe Labour seat.

I'd have voted Labour but I can't bring myself to vote for an MP that voted against the Marriage (Same Sex Couples Act) and is openly against abortion. That isn't someone that represents me.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/05/2015 17:05

I voted conservative in a safe conservative seat, so it probably didn't count.

Bookaboo · 07/05/2015 17:24

It can only be a safe seat if all the people who used to vote continue to vote, so it's not wasted! Only feels wasted when you want to vote for a minority party in a safe seat.

fascicle · 07/05/2015 17:27

Lib Dem, and no it won't affect the result.

For polling stations lovers, I give you 'the top 10 strangest polling stations across the UK':

MrsBungle · 07/05/2015 17:29

I voted labour. His previously safe seat became more precarious last time so every vote counts.

thehumanjam · 07/05/2015 17:31

I went into the polling station intending to vote Labour (this morning I was planning on voting LD) and I came out voting none of the above. I couldn't vote for any of them with a clear conscience.

Voted labour in previously safe seat but snp are everywhere! Hope others do the same as find the whole snp outlook very parochial although I do think NS is a very 'good' politician.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 07/05/2015 17:49

I voted Green because I'm a Green supporter and standing for the local elections in my ward. I kind of feel that no vote is a wasted one and that, if you wish, you should vote for what you believe in (rather than over-much tactically) Do feel that overall vote share will be reported on too and have some influence.

It is very close here though (between Con and Labour) - and I am hoping that Ed will be the new prime-minister tomorrow. Surely time for a change - Ed and Labour party have grown on me during the election campaign too

So it wasn't a completely easy vote but felt the right one on balance. As some kind of compromise dh is voting Labour (I think) - so they get one vote from our household. Voting for me for the locals though - or he better had!

expatinscotland · 07/05/2015 17:50

SNP

Grantaire · 07/05/2015 17:52

Labour but we're in an ultra safe Conservative area.

DevaDiva · 07/05/2015 17:52

Lib Dem, in a Con/Lab marginal and normally vote Conservative but even though my vote is 'wasted' I just couldn't do it this time as I don't rate our Candidate.

BikeRunSki · 07/05/2015 17:54

Very marginal seat here - I voted for the lady in red. It was historically a safe Labour seat, but the boundaries changed hugely before the last GE and the Labour MP lost by less than 2%. I'm hoping to get a new one this time.

Poolbirthx2 · 07/05/2015 17:57

I voted Tory - I have never voted them before but thought they were the best out of them all Hmm

chocolateyy · 07/05/2015 17:57

I voted SNP, but they already have a HUGE majority here, so hoping for more of the same!

TroelsNextCampaignManager · 07/05/2015 17:57

Will vote Lib Dem - going when DS is home so he can come with me. My vote won't count because it's a very safe Labour seat.

minimalisthoarder · 07/05/2015 18:00

Lib Dem here too. Best balance of rationality and compassion I could find (you can't have one without the other and make it work long term). I doubt they'll get in, but if you don't vote for something you believe in, you're voting for something you don't. Also signed a petition online for looking at PR again.
