Anyone know a way DCs can get involved with political parties?

I have a strange DD who is only 10 but really into the election. She is keen to get involved in some way and I was wondering if there was any organisation aimed at children/young people. Am assuming not, but wondered if anyone knew. Am keen to encourage her interest, even though her political views are quite opposite to ours!!!

What about www.ukyouthparliament.org.uk/ ?
Think the minimum age for candidacy is 11 but I don't suppose there's any harm in having a poke about the website to see if there are any opportunities for dd to get involved with anything.

Brilliant MrsSmith. She is nearly 11 anyway. Thank you v. v.much.

The Youth Parliament is absolutely excellent. Elections for MYPs often get a higher voter turnout than local elections! And they now get to debate each year in the Commons Chamber. Inspirational kids. But not party political.

The DC could join the youth branch of the party they are interested in. There are Young Conservatives and Young Labour organisations. I don't know about the other parties off hand, but they probably have something.

Or they could join several and see which they really like idc?

I like the idea of YP - particularly because it is not party political. Think too early for her to be affiliating herself to any party just yet; would rather she focus on issues and let that guide her.
