What do you hope will be the outcome of the Election and what do you realistically predict!?

I would love to see a Lib Dem government but as that's unlikely to happen, a Labour majority would be good.

Realistically, I wonder if Labour will get a majority with the SNP and LDs voting on issue by issue, not a coalition.

Interesting that Michael Gove wouldn't talk about a coalition on the news yesterday as he said the Conservatives would have a majority.

What do you all predict?!

I think David Cameron will still be pm whether with a majority or a coalition with the lib dems. The former is what I'd prefer.

Trapper · 16/04/2015 09:10

I'd like, Enough of the Tories to keep austerity going. Enough others to block an EU referendum and keep benefits bashing in check. No deals with the SNP, no deals with UKIP. A cross party commitment increasing housing, schools and hospitals in line with a growing population.

tilder · 16/04/2015 09:50

I would like that too trapper. Would add a serious and genuine commitment to the environment too, especially promotion of flood management and renewables that takes account of the science (ie not Eric pickles or the Tory way).

I think its generally called the middle ground and is sadly in limited supply in Westminster.

Bowlersarm · 16/04/2015 09:57

I'd like a Conservative majority.

I don't think anyone has a clue what'll happen, even policitical commentators seem to be at a total loss. I hope there isnt a lab/snp coalition, I'd rather have a labour majority. I hope UKIP don't make inroads.

I'd like a Labour-Green coalition. So long as the Tories and UKIP don't do well, I'll be happy.

iHAVEtogetoutofhere · 16/04/2015 10:10

I'd like a LibDem/Green Govt.

I think we'll get a Labour Majority (just) propped up by the SNP (God Help Us).

I think that will only just 'beat' a Cons/UKIP prospect which, short of a Cons/UKIP/SNP alliance (from Hell) would be my very worst nightmare.

I think this election is almost totally without merit and that 'public confidence' in those in power 'over us' is at an all time low.

IHeartRosPoldark · 16/04/2015 10:15

I would like a Lab/Lib dem government ideally, Although the green party appeal too..

I hope the SNP can benefit Scotland, my worse case scenario would be the tories again, I cannot take UKIP seriously I am afraid...

I will be voting for John Mann, I am really impressed by him, he is always involved and debating for his area, wish more politicians came across as real people like him, I think he makes politics interesting and restores the faith somewhat...

GentlyBenevolent · 16/04/2015 10:16

I would like to see a Labour majority. And I still think we could...although I don't think it's likely.

I think we might see a Labour minority government with a confidence and supply arrangement with the SNP/Plaid/Greens. I don't think Labour would do a C&S arrangement with just the SNP because that would look too partial and would also piss off Scottish Labour. If they have the same arrangement with the SNP as with Plaid then it could just about fly. HOWEVER if this happens we will have another election inside 5 years. And it is very difficult to predict how that would turn.

I do not expect and do not want to see Labour coming to any sort of arrangement at all with the Liberals.

Jackieharris · 16/04/2015 10:19

Labour minority gov supported by smaller parties on a vote by vote basis.

Minority gov is easier since the fixed term parliaments act.

Chipstick10 · 16/04/2015 10:20

You would think after five years of a hated Tory gov that labour would be streets ahead.

Viviennemary · 16/04/2015 10:25

I don't want labour. Or a lab LD pact. I don't really want the tories. I think maybe if SNP get a huge number of seats then the whole thing will have to be rethought. Which would be a good thing. In fact I don't really like any of them very much this time tbh.

SirChenjin · 16/04/2015 10:28

I don't like any of them very much either - they all have a few policies that I quite like and many that I don't. My vote is being cast on the basis of 1)anyone but the SNP and 2)who I least detest. Not really what I'd like to be doing.

thehumanjam · 16/04/2015 10:36

I don't think any party deserves to win overall, I think they are all extremely weak.

I would like to see a Labour/Lib Dem/Green coalition.

I suspect it will be a Conservative/Lib Dem coalition.

My worst nightmare would be a Conservative/UKIP coalition and I'm really hoping that people see sense and don't give their vote to UKIP.

tilder · 16/04/2015 11:13

I know saying 'mumsnet is a bubble' is quite common, but there do seem to be lots of people (on and off mumsnet) saying there isn't really anyone they want to vote for. It's sad.

I will still be voting though. Anything but ukip.

Seeker33 · 16/04/2015 12:08

Predictions are not realisticm they are just intelligent. Most profs are going for hung parliament. they cud be wrong 3 weeks is a long time in election campaigning I have a horrible hunch that cameron will hang on hope I am wrong

Callmebrian · 16/04/2015 12:43

There will not be a Tory UKIP coalition - UKIP will have far too few seats.

thehumanjam · 16/04/2015 13:47

Let's hope it stays that way callmebrian.

crapfatbanana · 16/04/2015 13:50

Best case - left wing coalition
Worst - Tory & UKIP

TreeSparrow · 18/04/2015 20:12

Lots on here supporting Labour and Green policies. I come out a combination of Green and Labour when I select by policy (not personality) with zero interest in Conservative/UKIP.

Has anyone seen this Vote Swapping scheme? voteswap.org/ I've registered as I'd like to vote Green but they have no hope in my area which is currently Labour. I'll vote Labour to keep them in.

fortyfide · 24/04/2015 12:00

The bookies current odds on party to win most seats would be interesting.

Everyone else seems to be as detached as a mid terraced house. Bookies just think dosh.
